Other criteria they look at

vs Top 25: 4-3
vs Top 50: 7-3

They also use record in last 10 games so that looks great on us now on a 10 game win streak. Having an opportunity at a couple huge matchups in the sec tourney will really help us as well!

Us giving tu their first loss and us playing extremely well as of late will absolutely help us out too. Yes they follow some metric and computer rankings, but there's also the eye test and human element.

I might be a little biased, but I think we should be in the top 4. the silly scheduling hurt us in the SMU/TCU games. No way we lose that second game if the scheduling was not so messed up.

Nebraska does not want us in their region as well.

SMU was firmly a 2 seed already so they'll likely stay ahead of us. Stanford picked up a huge win over Pitt a few days ago so it'll be interesting! The argument could be made to move them over us cause of their win over Pitt, but hopefully the loss can mitigate that. The ACC teams still have 3 or 4 more games. So chaos will ensue and hopefully some upsets in our favor.

1 seeds as of now are Nebraskas, Kentucky, Texas, and Pitt

Fighting for a 2 is SMU, Stanford, Arizona State, Texas A&M, Purdue, Creighton and maybe Wisconsin. I think right now we're a 2 seed, but the most reliable bracket people have us as the last 2 seed. I want to move up to avoid Nebraska at all costs.

Wouldn't we maybe be better off as a 3 and not in Nebraska region? If we want best chance to make final four?

Honestly it wouldn't hurt lol… not sure if they'd put us there unless we lose game 1 in the sec tourney. But it may mean a slightly tougher sweet sixteen game although the difference between facing a 2 seed or 3 seed in a neutral site should be marginal anyway. I also think we're good enough to beat a 6 or 7 seed in the second round. So it'll be interesting how it all plays out!

Although being one of the higher 2 seeds and facing tu would be fun, especially at their place

Do we get in front of tu if we win out and they lose a game at the SEC CHAMPIONSHIP

Could be interesting, but I think their non conference schedule and the wins they picked up are a huge advantage over us. But lets sweep them and find out

Rpi at 11
KPI at 6

both used by the committee

I wish the committee would release their ranking every week. Hard to place where A&M is at when AVCA poll favors us but RPI is holding us down.

A&M could beat Texas again on their way to winning the SEC Tourney and they still wouldn't end up seeded higher than them in the NCAA Tourney. RPI/KPI are too low. The Ags would have to finish ahead of at least one of Nebraska, Texas, Kentucky, or Pitt in the RPI/KPI to be in the conversation for a top-4 seed. That would be jumping 6 spots. Not gonna happen.

Jerritt Elliott schedules they way he does with the NCAA Tournament seeding in mind. With their schedule, 3 losses doesn't knock them out of a top-4. 4 losses doesn't necessarily - depends on who those losses are.

This person is traditionally one of the most accurate bracketologists of the WVB Tourney. The win over Texas and one this week in Savanah should get them a 2 seed and allow them to host the 1st and 2nd rounds. Then it's probably off to Lincoln.

If we win the SEC tourney with wins over Texas and Kentucky we wont be in Nebraska bracket and could be closing in on a top 4 spot based on other matches that may occur

That said the above poster is quoting a very accurate guy i have followed for well over a decade

So if the so called accurate guy's bracket is correct we would be seeded 8th in the tourney, nebr being #1 and brackets being snaked put us at 8 or last #2 seed. I would think we would at least have to beat sips and hope to move up 1 or 2 spots and not play Neb in the final 8 and avoid Neb until a possible championship match if we were to get that far.

Or maybe we drop to a high 3 seed in another region?

Part of me want to play Nebraska earlier than later. They are on cruise control and could overlook us. They've handled everyone so far and could be just looking to their final four matchups. We would be the talk of the town for a week. If we get into final 4 without beating Nebraska, everyone's going to be talking about Neb, Tex, Kentucky.

I can see benefits for either way.

Reading that bracketology thread on volleytalk, the Nebraska fans seem troubled by A&M being in their region. There does seem to be a general agreement that we are underranked.

Also, anytime I venture to another forum website, I appreciate TexAgs forum so much more. The software VT uses is horrible.

Our RPI isn't very strong as well as SoS, so I think that's hurting us overall. The TCU/SMU losses, typically good losses, are for some reason holding this team back. Even though they were road matches. Add that to an unusually weak SEC, and that leads us to being underrated. I'd be nervous if I was Nebraska though

Probably no one wants us in their region except maybe Kentucky

Kentucky is probably not afraid of it, but not sure they would want the rematch either. They swept tu, but we took them to 4 and very close to going to 5.

I would not say they are on cruise control. Living in Omaha and having a Nebraska die hard GF I've been forced to watch a good amount of their season in on tv and in person. They don't just beat the bad teams, they demolish them and then turn around and travel to a great Wisconsin team in a hostile Volleyball environment and do the same exact thing they did to Wright State.

Not saying we do not have a chance, because the way our team goes about finding a way to win is amazing, I would just rather play Nebraska as late in the bracket as possible. Would be cool to end their winning streak in the natty.... LOL

I would also hope that we have proven to not be a team to overlook... and if you are right and they are on cruise control and overlook us... GOOD!

Back up to 10 lol. It went down right after the Georgia game lol! Hopefully the SEC Tournament helps us out and we get some help these last few days!

One thing I notice looking at the actual RPI numbers 1-5 have pretty well solidified themselves. 6-12 are the next batch that are all pretty close in the overall number and then there is a pretty clear line of distinction beginning at 13 Minnesota and below.

FINALLY! Latest bracketology has us out of the Lincoln Regional lol. Instead heading to Lexington.

Not sure if Kentucky is any better. They took advantage of our weaknesses over and over. Hopefully we get a chance at them again in the SEC championship. I wonder if we do play them in two days, if the committee will try to schedule us in a different region.

If we just would have won the five setter at TCU we would be having serious discussions about Aggies getting a one seed! Been a great year! Keep it going in postseason

If we do end up in Kentucky's region, I'm glad we did not play them today.

And yes, Kentucky is a great team but Nebraska has easily the best home court advantage. If we play Nebraska, neutral court please!

Gonna be honest, we are not a top 4 team due to our defense. I love a good defense and we are not one. Our matches with texas were so close. We easily could have won that game if we dug up some of the harder hits. Stowers had amazing hits but I also saw how many of those were dug up CLEANLY.

That said, if we can pick it up in the tournament, we can make elite 8 easily.

Thats better than 2 seed in Lincoln or Lexington region. Right?

Yes, of course!

Texas has some young players. Kentucky has many experienced ones like us.

And Nebraska is easily the best team who has the best home court out there. So you don't want to go there.
