Just got back.
If you are flying into St. Thomas and then taking the Ferry over you will need to do the following:
1. Get a negative test for each person within 72 hours of travel (was 5 days but USVI just lowered to 72 hours)
2. Enter test result into USVI portal. You will get a green acceptance before you take off that you will need to show the airline and the USVI security upon landing.
3. Schedule your Ferry to BVI early, like now. There are only a few ferries each day.
4. You will have to get travel insurance to get into BVIs
5. You will have to be fully vaccinated to get into BVIs
6. If you take your covid test within 48 hours of entering BVI you do not have to take again when you get there, so we took ours day before we flew and it worked for both USVI and BVI. You will need to register for a Covid test on their site if not within 48 hours. I registered anyway just in case.
7. Must have a negative test to get back into USVI. We took with us the Navica/Abbot home tests that we did on our sail boat from port, you have to download an app and have someone watch you take test. But there are options for testing in the BVI too.
Have fun, the sailing is awesome right now down there!
