Has anyone traveled there and back from the U.S. recently? Just wondering what the requirements concerning vaccinations/negative tests/quarantines are. I have read through their web site, but it is isn't real clear.

TIA

Headed there Friday. Thursday we fly into st Thomas. The usvi portal was approved within an hour of submission.

From the usvi we will ferry over to the bvi.

We will have a mandatory test when we arrive at the Road Town ferry. I had to schedule it in advance.

Bvi used to have a portal, but it they took it down and just test everyone on arrival.

Just got back.

If you are flying into St. Thomas and then taking the Ferry over you will need to do the following:

1. Get a negative test for each person within 72 hours of travel (was 5 days but USVI just lowered to 72 hours)
2. Enter test result into USVI portal. You will get a green acceptance before you take off that you will need to show the airline and the USVI security upon landing.
3. Schedule your Ferry to BVI early, like now. There are only a few ferries each day.
4. You will have to get travel insurance to get into BVIs
5. You will have to be fully vaccinated to get into BVIs
6. If you take your covid test within 48 hours of entering BVI you do not have to take again when you get there, so we took ours day before we flew and it worked for both USVI and BVI. You will need to register for a Covid test on their site if not within 48 hours. I registered anyway just in case.
7. Must have a negative test to get back into USVI. We took with us the Navica/Abbot home tests that we did on our sail boat from port, you have to download an app and have someone watch you take test. But there are options for testing in the BVI too.

Have fun, the sailing is awesome right now down there!

If your test is within 48 hours they aren't requiring a new test, at least they were not last week.

Getting a Covid Test twice in 10 day period? No biggie. Was worth it.

I will arrive 50 hours after my test so I might be out of luck.

You gave a comprehensive list of stuff that I left off but it is very accurate about the travel insurance, etc.

We are going to be on a monohull for 7 days. I haven't scheduled the test in the bvi for the return to the usvi. Good info on the home test kit.

They were not hard and fast on 48 hours, just said within 2 days, so you might be okay. It's a Caribbean country so rules are flexible.

Many thanks! Very helpful! I feel like all of that is in line with what we are preparing to do.

Are they hard a$$es on the fully vaccinated requirement? Or, how do they define/check it? I am asking because we have someone going with us that is getting their second Pfizer shot 11 days before we travel.

You submit a photo of your vax card and that shows the dates.

Seems like I had to enter the dates of vaccination for one forms that I was filling out.

Yeah we entered our Vax photos in the portal and you have to take a copy with you. It wasn't an issue for us so not sure how strict they are on it.
