Wondering if this was Omicron? My wife and I are vaccinated, kids are not. I was miserable and couldn't breathe for a week, but nothing in my lungs and no fever. We didn't test or anything. I work from home so don't really see anyone. Thoughts?

99% sure that it wasn't a sinus infection. I thought I had something similar, but nopeā€¦.rona.

Buy one of those sinus rinse kits and use with distilled, not tap water.

If it provides relief, it may be some type of infection.

Could also be an unrelated virus, allergies or even stress.

I use Navage quite a bit. When I had the sinus infection it helped only a little.

I use a saline solution with betadine (Povidone-iodine), a form of iodine. 6 oz of distilled water with salt and 2 tsp of betadine. I use a bulb syringe and gargle with the remaining solution.

Peter McCullough mentioned it his podcast with Joe Rogan and there a few favorable studies, though not peer reviewed. The idea is to zap the virus early while it is incubating in the nasal area.

Might have just been something else viral and/or a good old sinus infection.

Dec 12, I noticed my throat was hoarse/scratchy. Thought it was from lack of sleep. Over the next couple of days my voice got worse, but no other symptoms. By Wed the 15, I had a fever blister on my lip, so I knew my body was fighting off something. We had plans to fly to Canada on Fri the 17, so I took a rapid NAAT test on Wed. Negative.

Get to Banff, where it is anywhere from -5 to 33* F (we live in HOU, and it was 80* when we left). Previous to the trip, the most extended cold weather I'd experienced was the freeze last Feb.

By Tues the 21, I'm was so stuffed up it's ridiculous. My nose is all dried out, and it alternates from dripping like a faucet when I'm outside in the cold to almost completely closing off at night in the heat. Had some post-nasal drip that irritated the back of my throat, some mild intermittent sinus pressure, and was sneezing. I'm still stuffy today and have crazy dry mouth. No fever or fatigue, though.

Yesterday I took a rapid antigen test so we can fly home today. Needless to say, I was worried, but it was negative. Son's test was negative, too, and he's been around me 24/7. He had similar symptoms to mine, just not as bad, on Sun and Mon.

Turns out cold-induced rhinitis has the exact symptoms as the mild version of this strain.

Mountain cedar is bad in the air. I've got 22 diagnosed pollen allergies. Itchy throat. Nose clogged, drowsy and coughing. My eyes are burning from the pollen too.

Two weeks ago daughter's daycare made us quarantine because 3 teachers were positive w Covid. She's been coughing non stop, runny nose and watery eyes like me. Got a PCR test last Saturday and all 3 of us were negative. It's just the junk in the air that messing with a lot of people.

I know nothing of this being true but I used to get sinus infections all the time from my allergies. I used xlear, you can get on Amazon or HEB. It's a nasal spray I used before taking a shower but cleaning out your nasal passages I would suspect would keep you from experiencing a lot of discomfort. I can feel the difference every night just by doing that simple thing. I would t be surprised if it helps stop any kind of nasal disease. Can't hurt anyways.

You'll really never know unless you tested. You're all good now. Does t really matter. I wouldn't test either in your situation at this point.

Had the same thing happen to my family. It wasn't COVID though. Human meta-pneumovirus. ER doc said they have seen a lot in the last 6-8 weeks

Never had a sinus infection in my life and had one a month ago that lasted 10+ days. Absolutely miserable. GF had one at the same time and tested covid negative (she has to test for work), so I didn't bother getting tested since when I'm sick I'm not around anyone anyways.
