If you promised to stay home and deal with your "weak ass flu" like a man if you caught it, I'd be on board with it.

But no, you'll be in the ICU arguing with my wife about the care you're receiving, up until you're intubated, all the time running up huge insurance bills for everyone else to pay, then starting a GoFundMe when you die to care for your children, and causing other patients waiting for that ICU bed to die, all because you made a safe, effective vaccine a political issue.

THAT'S when it stops being your own choice - when you present yourself for care for something so easily preventable.

Yeah, yeah - do LOLfats, do smokers - if there was a safe, effective vaccine for that condition right down the hall, the line would wrap around the building.

You spend more time thinking and worrying about Covid than I spend thinking and worrying about my kids.

It's unhealthy.
You'd probably be the same way if your wife had to deal with all of the nonsense his wife does.

With Covid or with him?

What does it say about the vaxxed quietly spreading the disease and killing the unvaxxed? If anything, the vaxxed should be required to take more precautions like never getting within 6 ft and always wearing an n95 mask form fit to a shaven face so that they can stop killing everyone.

I read the source study report.

It takes some interesting liberties with data analysis.

Remember that testing isn't random sampling.

It is self reporting, basically.

Only people who know they are were exposed, or have to be tested for various reasons, or have significant symptoms tend to seek out and get testing, so you aren't getting a random population sample to work with.

That there is known as selection bias.

The source data and methods of analysis used for the report have to be known and understood to them understand what it is actually implying,

For example. Death rates.

A death rate of 2/100000 tested infections (ie symptomatic) is a pretty tiny. A dead rate post vaccination can be ten times lower, 0.2/100000, but it's a tiny fraction of an already tiny number in relative terms. Such small fractional incidence numbers aren't a great read of risk.

I also suspect that using data from pre and post mass vaccination periods causes issues (Jan 21 -October 21 for some of the report), and also the evolutionary supremacy of the delta variant in the last couple of months changes the implication of the data.

Also, the fraction of those with natural immunity is growing all the time, and the data indicates it is at least as robust as the vaccination effects.

I suspect asymptomatic vaccinated persons spread it, as they have no idea they have it and no reason to seek testing, and yet though less infectious than an unvaccinated person, they are still potent highly infectious with high viral loads with delta.

I suspect that persons with natural immunity have similar properties, regardless of vaccination status. Some will be asymptomatic spreaders.

The remaining unvaccinated that haven't been exposed are at higher risk but the fraction of the population that represents is rapidly shrinking.

I've been fully vaccinated since May, for reference.

Maybe some people just aren't cut out for the job.
