Traveling to Egypt and figured why not try the booster. I do not want to get sick in Egypt.

Shot at 1:30 PM.

5:00 PM - So far no side effects.

Feel fine this morning, shoulder a little sore not bad at all.

I have not been infected with covid yet and with my trip to Egypt I decided to get the booster. I wouldn't have done it if I had recovered from covid or wasn't going to Egypt. Main reason is we took a four person trip to morocco, my wife went to Vegas for work the week before picked up a really bad cold, gave it to me in morocco and ruined half my damn trip. Still mad about it.

My arm is still sore this morning but I did my workout anyway.

I haven't had Covid yet, despite being exposed a couple of times to people who tested positive the next day.

My parents live with us and are in their 80s with age-related health conditions, so we've all had our boosters except Mr Geo who should get his soon. Seems the prudent thing to do in our situation.

I got my Pfizer booster today at 4:00, now five hours later and just a tiny bit of tenderness but still did my workouts and continued to work.

Got mine 26 hours ago. Sore arm, and other existing muscle issues were flaring up a few hours ago. Some ibuprofen and I'm still a little beat down but mostly okay.

How many boosters does everyone anticipate needing?

I can't speak for everyone else, but I haven't worried about that at all.

It takes 4 doses of the polio vaccine to reach maximum effectiveness. A lot of vaccines take multiple shots.

I get the flu vaccine every year. When you're primary caregiver for elderly loved ones you do that. It's no biggie.

Thought I'd throw my wife's experience on this thread.

She's immune suppressed, so she got the full third dose of Moderna as her doc suggested. 2nd dose kicked her butt. This one wasn't as bad.

Shot at 4PM. Slight Fever and Fatigue began about 24 hours afterwards. She was achy and had chills through the night. Fever topped out at about 100.5. She slept in, but was pretty much back to normal the next morning.

Zero. Can't get a booster if there is nothing to boost.

So what I cannot find....for polio vaccine...it seems 3 or 4 shot regimen was always the plan, correct? Or did it start as 1, then go to 2, then to 3 and then finally peaked at 4?

I feel like it was always multiple (3 or 4) and they knew it.

COVID / MRNA seems to be flying by the seat of the pants a bit more with will we need 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or annual or twice a year or event quarterly for high risk...we still have no idea....

How would we. COVID (in humans) and the vaccine aren't even 2 years old at this point. Polio was a more stable virus and less contagious, therefore it's much easier to have the vaccine be a more permanent fix. The reason boosters are more uncertain is more a function of the virus than the vaccine.

Quarterly is very unlikely. The three scenarios that are by far most likely are 1) annually like a flu shot 2) 1-2 boosters spaced out by a few months gives more permenant immunity 3) only high risk individuals need a booster annually.

The slippery slope logical fallacy of "oh you might have to get vaccinated every day" is just a pathetic excuse to scare people away from the vaccine. It's completely unfounded. It's the equivalent of saying everyone that gets COVID will end up in the ICU.
