I've had a sore throat since Monday evening that felt like nothing more than allergies. Yesterday my head started hurting (still thinking it was allergies) but I had a home covid test already so I took it. Ended up coming back positive. My head feels fine today, o2 is good but I've got the worst sore throat you can imagine. Is that normal with covid? Almost feels like I've got strep instead of covid

Yes a sore throat is common and what I experienced. Throw out the rule book when it comes to covid. Everyone experiences different symptoms that dont feel like it should be covid, but it is. Ive seen so many people experience mild allergy symptoms that refuse to get tested, that probably had covid and spread it to others.

My boss had COVID and her main and most difficult symptom was sore throat. She equated it to strep. Like swallowing razor blades. She never guessed it would be COvId but she tested and it was positive.

ETA: breakthrough case. J&J vaccine (earlier this summer)

Same here. Extreme sore throat was my first symptom other than fever. Really sucked.

Currently getting the infusion. Hopefully I can stop it before other symptoms pop up.

Yep. I tested positive about 10 days ago. Had what felt like allergies. I was planning to go to the UK about 7 later so I got tested as a precaution. PCR tested positive while 3 separate Abbot at home tests showed negative. Canceled the trip as UK requires a negative PCR test within 2 days of arrival.

Symptoms were fairly mild over the past 10 days. Slight sore throat, mild headache at times, slight chest pain and lower cardio performance when trying to workout. Symptoms were basically gone in 3-4 days and haven't come back.

Vaccinated with J&J in early March 2021 and likely had COVID in early 2020 before testing became ubiquitous.

A sore throat was pretty much my 18 year old kid's only symptom when she had it in January, other than a day or so of fever and losing her sense of smell.

My wife and I caught it from her over the next several days. Mine was like a sinus infection. My wife had headaches, nerve pain, and general malaise. They both lost sense of smell, and even though I was the only one with head congestion, I didn't. None of us had a cough.

So all 3 different symptoms

Now I'm really confused. Take home test taken yesterday afternoon and 1 this morning were both positive. Just now got results on the PCR I took yesterday and it's negative… what's going on here?

super high rag weed and mold spores through the roof right now, allergies are causing sore throats for a week or 2.. check your local pollen report. my eyes are red and throat hurts in morning.. my buddy and his son both have super puffy red eyes and having to take antihistamines to sleep at night

Houston Health Department - Pollen and Mold (houstontx.gov) dangerously high pollen counts in Houston right now, ragweed is probably state wide, mold is CRAZY high, im not allergic to much except during this time of year when ragweed is off the charts

My covid experience started with a sore throat and a fever for 3-4 days. I then went two days with no symptoms before developing a cough. 48 hours later I was in the hospital with 84% O2 saturation, on 60L of oxygen, and had a pretty servere case of pneumonia. Please keep an eye on your o2 levels and if they start dipping to the low 90s, get to the hospital asap.

If you want to read about my adventure that included 7 days in the hospital the first time, then 7 days at home, then another 5 days in the hospital, go read the last 5 or so pages of the "I just tested positive" thread. I am a pretty healthy (a little extra weight but no other comorbidities) 38 year old male. I was not afraid of covid at all, and should have been. My wife, parents, in laws, kids, and sister in law all got it at the same time and I was the only one hit hard with it. But i came very close to not making it apparently (more than one doctor told me to buy lottery tickets as I was getting better).

Please do not blow it off as if it's nothing. It very well may be nothing especially if you got the infusion, but please watch your o2 levels. It affects everyone differently, and even the doctors were telling me they still have no idea how it works or why it does what it does to your body.
