Don't piss down our backs and tell us it's raining. The data is everywhere and it's pretty conclusive that immunity from a prior covid infection is every bit as good, if not better, than vaccination.

I have not had cable since 2013 but on a plane ride back to TX, I watched a bit of CNN and it was a 20 minute interview with some Indian professor who teaches at UGA. The big scary headline:

90000+ expected at Georgia football game with NO mandates.

The professor teaches "children's healthcare policy" or something to that effect. The majority of the interview was "woe is coming"

Except that graph is absolute case numbers, not per capita. Partially vaccinated is probably a pretty small share of the population, so that yellow line is probably a higher percent of partially vaccinated than the fully vaccinated rate of severe cases (I don't know those numbers, so that's just conjecture on my part).

As discussed in this article, 80% of eligible Israelis are fully vaccinated. Since, among demographics most likely to get severe disease, the vaccinated population is 4X unvaccinated, and the number or severe infections is similar between the 2 groups, it would suggest that you're at least 4X less likely to get severe infx if vaccinated. (Again, no clue what the denominator is for partially vaccinated.)
