You know how I know you don't get a flu shot every year?
I actually do and have never had a reaction. Neither has anyone in my family.
I have had the flu shot every year for the past 25 and never had a reaction. But I also did not have any noticeable reaction to my Pfizer vaccine shots. No one in my family had much of a reaction except the sore arms and my wife felt chilled the evening after the second shot.
Now the Shingrix vaccine shot for shingles was a different matter. Both the first and second shots put me down for 24-36 hours. My wife only had a reaction after the second dose of Shingrix and not as bad as mine. Still glad I got it though because I've seen how miserable shingles can be.
I didn't have any reaction to the Pfizer but the Shingrix was really painful going in. I would swear it was thick as syrup. My arm hurt for a couple of weeks. For a general reaction, I think I was feeling yucky for about 24 hours, but not really sick, just tired, achy.
But I'm with you. I'm thrilled to have the shot and avoid the shingles. It's the worst.
In fact, I did both kinds of shingles vaccines (the old one and the new with both doses). I'd pretty much do anything to avoid shingles.
