Already have a list of doctors that will treat unvaccinated people. I really hope these refusing doctors make it known who they are so we can avoid them in the future.

Is there a database of vaccinated people? Honest question, I must've missed it. How would a doctor know if you lied about it?

You have to be vaccinated to be a patient at Texas children's, this is nothing new

Since when does a doctor have to risk their health, or the health of their staff, and the other patients in their office, to help you? Some doctors fire patients for non-compliance with their medication regimens, or those that clearly do not follow doctor's orders. How is this different?

If you don't like it, go find someone else.

People aggressively and deliberately getting Covid and then complaining about not getting treated is seriously dystopian sci-fi level whackadoodlrey.

LOL

Some of you are so stupid.

You really think this is about about the doctor's health risk? I guess these doctors aren't vaccinated themselves?

I had this exact conversation with a doctor the other day. He said "a patient with smallpox could walk into my examination room and I would have no risk in being in the same room as him - why would I treat Covid any differently?"

I don't believe this is true, if not outright lie and misinformation

We just delivered at TCH. They didn't ask vaccination status until after we were patients.

Furthermore, when we were checked in there were 4-5 rooms with COVID positive mommas I passed every day walking to our room. All unvaccinated I heard (one who died before we were discharged).

With that said TCH is at capacity due to COVID. The Louisiana children's hospital hit capacity, and diverted patients to TCH. TCH then hit capacity and has diverted some patients to Oklahoma.

You have to have a flu shot to be a patient at Texas children's? Highly doubt that. I know you don't at Dell Children's.

Yes the flu shot is a better comparison.

Risk their health? What a load of dung. How is it different than treating a vaccinated person?

And yes, I would find someone else.

You have to get the standard list of vaccinations to be a patient (tdap, etc etc).

2) the point is that requiring vaccinations for service is not new, feel free to take your business elsewhere

A gay couple has the right to require a baker to make his wedding cake.

A child molester has a right to have a lawyer defend him.

An unvaxed person has no right to have a doctor treat him.

Did I get that right?

Everyone seems to be reacting to this in an expected fashion: how does it affect me? How dare they. They are trying to control me. They are despicable. They are disgusting. This is all a very natural human response.

How about you take a step back and look at it from another perspective. Doctors and other healthcare providers joined the profession to help people be healthy. We have always watched people make bad choices that affected their health but even those that struggle with following our advice at least make an effort and acknowledge that their choices need improvement. We treat these folks for decades. We treat their children, their siblings, their parents. They become family to us.

Now we watch them die a miserable death. It is preventable. They leave grieving wives, husbands, children, and parents looking to us for answers.. They just need to listen to the medical professionals that have their best interest at heart. They let other forces control their emotions and their choices. They die struggling to breathe,

If you don't think that takes an emotional toll on us then you don't have any idea how much of us becomes invested in our patients. Death after death takes its toll and we are affected. I can understand after hearing for the ten thousandth time that "covid has a 98% survival rate; I'm good without the vaccine" amongst the plethora of other reasons to reach a point where you say:" I can't keep watching my patients die because they will not follow my advice and get a vaccine. I will only see those patients that actually value my opinion enough to get the vaccine". Doctors and nurses are emotionally vulnerable too.

Amen. Some people think that doctors and nurses are emotionless robots that don't get emotional, don't get tired, and are perfectly fine watching people suffer and die on a daily basis for literally no good reason. Then we try to convince these people that they should get a free and simple vaccine, and some people like to tell us that we don't know what we're talking about. Then when these people get sick and end up in the hospital, the same person who dismissed my advise is now begging for my expertise, time, attention and my caring empathy. Sometimes days or weeks after laughing in my face when advise them to get vaccinated.

Imagine being a public defender and having your client fire you and represent themselves in court. Then, after they are found guilty, then they show up and expect you to take over the case for their sentencing and appeal. And you do it, because you became a lawyer to help people, but damn is it insulting. And I have no judgement for doctors who don't want to pour their time, hearts and souls out for people who laugh in their face when they tell them a very simple and free way to prevent the whole thing.

It is preventable. Eat healthy. Exercise. Take care of your body. Be cautious of anything you PUT into it. You want to Shame me? Let's get into your personal choices. You vote to kill babies? You fat? You vote for Biden and kill those marines?

If someone isn't wearing seat belt and is in a wreck, they are turned away right?

Demons have been created on this issue due to the lack of logic being applied and the constant FEAR PORN. But force things in to my body and I'm liable to force something back on you. That simple. Come and stick it mother ****er!

And I presume that you believe these vaccines are without any and all risks and that a reasonable mind is not able to form an opinion contrary to your own.

Particularly when a study is published asserting that the vaccines may make variants more dangerous. https://texags.com/forums/84/topics/3220282/last#last

First off the child molesters right as the accused is in the Constitution and is a core pillar to our government/society because he is innocent until proven guilty.

The doctor is a private business he/she reserves the right to to serve whom he/she wants.

Now for the record, I think it's bull**** not to treat an unvaccinated patient but it's also their right. It's even more bull**** for a pediatrician to not do it IMO. They have an opportunity to educate on all the various vaccines in general and on other healthcare issues from RSV to developmental issues and on and on.

In this day and age they become almost de facto primary care physicians for the entire family and help head off a ton of illness entering the household.

First time parents are completely ignorant, ask me how I knowI was one of those dumb parents. Our pediatrician was aces. I learned about RSV when my oldest had it and a thousand other things as well.

I personally wouldn't see a pediatrician that required vaccination and I'm as pro vax as it comes.

Legally they can but ethically? Not so sure.

If y'all would read the actual article, you would see that it's agreed restricting access to care for any individual is only acceptable when there are limited resources available. In other words, If there's no ICU space and no ER space and someone comes in needing urgent care, doctor begin having to make assessments of who has the greatest chance of a negative outcome.

An example was this week - my wife said her ER, and every ER in Dallas County, was on emergency divert - which means no one was on emergency divert - which means care was being rationed.

I can assure you doctors DO NOT WANT to make those choices - they want to save every single person who presents themselves for care. But if forced, they'll do their job.

IF YOU WANT TO MINIMIZE THE CHANCES OF PLACING YOURSLEF AT THE MERCY OF SOME DOCTOR MAKING THAT CHOICE - there is one simple, free thing you can do. Your body your choice - but your choices have consequences.
