I'm not trying to start a war. Just want to know if there are any such studies that assess the effectiveness (or lack thereof) of masks. Anything?
TIA
I'll just say this. My kids were in school last year and were required to wear masks all year last year and we experienced just a few cases throughout the year. This year back at school for less than 2 weeks without masks and the cases have already exceeded last year.
No science applied to this study just a real life observation. Either Delta is just that much more infectious with kids or masks were working last year.
Delta is roughly 4x as contagious. I have serious doubts that kids wearing mask makes any significant difference.
Yeah, if we are going to go anecdotal I had one kid in a junior high with a mask mandate (100% of kids wore them) and the other kid in an elementary without a mandate (less than 5% wore masks) and the campus with the mask mandate had several times the number of confirmed cases over the other campus without masks.
My take on it was that masks don't make a difference junior high kids probably tend to have more symptoms when they get it and probably do more social activities which leads to more cases.
