Yes. I'm an MD. Med school at Southwestern. Interned at Parkland Hospital.
Served in the USAF FROM 72-75. I've been an md since 1971.
Been in private practice of child, adolescent , and adult psychiatry since 1981.

I ran ERs in my younger days for 4-5 years. And my training at Southwestern taught me how to think critically. So it's not weird at all.
