I got this from Dr Rev or one of the others on here. I am not a doctor nor am I offering medical advice - just sharing what we took and I believe made our cases so mild.

Had the J&J.

Starting with a really sore throat on Saturday night and carried into Sunday as well. Then the congestion came. Felt like I just had a bad cold. Go through times of pretty bad body aches, especially in the legs. Still very congested but sore throat has gone away thankfully. Been waking up a 3am very congested and achey. But spent majority of yesterday just feeling like I had a bad cold.

treat it like a flu. Take NSAIDS or Tylonol as needed for fever/aches. Drink plenty of fluids. Don't lay around all day even if that's all you want to do. Go for a walk 3 times a day.

There's no solid evidence that Ivermectin, Zinc, HCQ really help all that much but they don't hurt to try as long as you take them as prescribed.

I'm a nurse practitioner by the way. This is just free advice. I've never met you and don't know your medical history. Definitely consult you're own provider.

Take ivermectin. There is very "solid" evidence that it works.
I take it every two weeks for prevention in case a variant comes along that my Moderna vaccine can't handle
I also take dr rev's cocktail.

Its almost like people are getting cold / sinus / flus again and have forgotten what it was like to be sick.

This is not against the OP at all but this "new phenomenon" of being "sick" is really taking people by storm after a year of at least partial isolation.

Maybe there is increased awareness of symptoms because of COVID.

I do not know but seems like a lot of people I know are dealing w/ sore throats, heavy congestion, etc. Maybe just maybe its a result of a 'returning to normal' society and people passing things around?

Hope you get to feeling better OP!

Do you think it clears up your intestinal worms so your body can fight Covid better?

Seriously, I was reading a while back that 98.6 is actually not our body temperature any more. People are healthier today, and on average have fewer infections and - as a result - lower body temperature, perhaps by a full degree. Since Ivermectin has no anti-viral capabilities, maybe in some people it helps with secondary infections?

Echo the walks each day. A buddy that is an anesthesiologist works with some experts and recommended keeping your respiratory system active (don't lay around; go on walks) and also recommended the baby aspirin.

Gotcha. So this seems bad that a psychiatrist would be offering advice for COVID. It's not like I'd seek the same for lady problems.

The advice he gave was solid and appreciated. Just like with other posters, you can take it or leave it. I'm not sure why he is being singled out. The OP was asking for advice.

Just to be clear:

1) Your wife and child came down with Covid nearly a week and a half ago. Received positive tests.
2) You started feeling bad Saturday night.
3) You waited until you received a positive test result today before asking what one should take if they have Covid

Hope your wife and kid recovered well and best wishes to you

Most docs aren't recommending ivermectin anymore. All of the studies about it are bunked now. That was the only reason why I asked

Thank you for your well wishes. My wife and son have recovered thankfully.

And that is correct - I asked once I tested positive.

Sounds like some pretty ignorant doctors based on the massive success rate is had. I feel so bad for their patients. You should never have to suffer because your doc is a partisan hack.

Here..I'll show my work.

https://www.cnet.com/news/can-ivermectin-treat-covid-19-what-you-should-know-about-this-controversial-drug/

Ivermectin's potential use as a COVID-19 therapeutic made headway last December during a Senate Homeland Security Committee meeting called Focus on Early Treatment of COVID-19. Dr. Pierre Kory, a pulmonary and critical care specialist, testified about the drug's usage for treatment of the disease.

Quote:

"Ivermectin is highly safe, widely available, and low cost," Kory said in the Senate meeting. "We now have data from over 20 well-designed clinical studies, 10 of them randomized, controlled trials, with every study consistently reporting large magnitude and statistically significant benefits in decreasing transmission rates, shortening recovery times, decreasing hospitalizations, or large reductions in deaths. These data show that ivermectin is effectively a 'miracle drug' against COVID-19."
During his testimony, Kory referred to a paper he authored -- Review of the Emerging Evidence Demonstrating the Efficacy of Ivermectin in the Prophylaxis and Treatment of COVID-19 -- that was published in the May edition of the American Journal of Therapeutics.
The paper was also included in the Frontiers of Pharmacology journal in January but was then removed in March. Dr. Frederick Fenter, chief executive editor of the journal, said the paper was removed due to "strong, unsupported claims based on studies with insufficient statistical significance, and at times, without the use of control groups." Fender also said the authors promoted their own specific ivermectin-based treatment, which goes against editorial policies.
A study listed in Kory's paper involved giving ivermectin to 234 uninfected health care workers in Argentina and found those who received the drug were far less likely to be diagnosed with COVID. For mildly ill patients, an Iraq study saw a quicker recovery time.
There are also studies that show otherwise. A clinical trial of 476 patients found ivermectin didn't improve the recovery time in patients who had COVID-19. A review of 10 random clinical trials, with more than 1,000 participants, also didn't find improvements with ivermectin. One Egyptian study claimed to show positive results, but it's since been redacted over ethical concerns.
Merck, the company that discovered ivermectin, released a statement in February saying there was "no scientific basis for a potential therapeutic effect against COVID-19 from pre-clinical studies" and "no meaningful evidence for clinical activity or clinical efficacy in patients with COVID-19 disease." It also cited a lack of safety data from major studies.
