Just the act of treating everything that moves like it has COVID is costing providers more. An increase in reimbursement for an actual COVID patient is completely warranted.

Both obese. The problem is a huge portion of Texas is fat. There's no other way to say it. Obesity is a preexisting condition. Texas is an obese state. Fat people aren't doing well with this illness.

In typical news reporting, is obesity classified as a preexisting condition? Example I saw a report today, "Grand prairie woman in her 20s with no underlying conditions died" and sometimes it makes me wonder if they are counting obesity as an underlying condition.

Not sure about the news but I'd consider it a preexisting condition to almost anything and everything except osteoporosis

Doesn't take a governor. Have first hand knowledge of a hospital in East Texas having to send COVID+ patients back to isolation rooms at LTC facilities. Apparently that isn't working as I know of a LTC here that had 11 residence and 2 staff test positive today.

This goes back to the argument of "just isolate the vulnerable". Who is caring for them? They don't exist in a bubble. The nurse taking care of grandma is out at the bar on Friday.
