He's kind of become a soothing predictable gimmick poster in times of uncertainty.
I'm just amazed he has people who haven't ignored him and his act. THAT is the impressive thing.

When this is all said and done, I may very well just need to drop TexAgs like I've dropped NFL, NBA, most of social media, etc because I will have blocked so many fools that are so right wing it isn't funny.

I'm pretty damn conservative, but my God, there is a special breed of wack job on TexAgs

Facts can be offensive at times...

Medicare will pay hospitals a 20% "add-on" to the regular DRG payment for COVID-19 patients. That's a result of the CARES Act...

Quote:

"A COVID patient on a ventilator will need more services and more complicated services, not just the ventilator," said Joseph Antos, scholar in health care at the American Enterprise Institute. "It is reasonable that a patient who is on a ventilator would cost three times one who isn't that sick."

Just the act of treating everything that moves like it has COVID is costing providers more. An increase in reimbursement for an actual COVID patient is completely warranted.

Consistent with demongraphics/pre existing conditions as seen previously? Or seeing younger/healthier too?

Cases skewing younger. Sent two people under the age of 40 to ICU. Couldn't keep their sats up even with proning and tons of oxygen.

Both obese. The problem is a huge portion of Texas is fat. There's no other way to say it. Obesity is a preexisting condition. Texas is an obese state. Fat people aren't doing well with this illness.

BMI's 32-35ish or well over 40?

In typical news reporting, is obesity classified as a preexisting condition? Example I saw a report today, "Grand prairie woman in her 20s with no underlying conditions died" and sometimes it makes me wonder if they are counting obesity as an underlying condition.

Not sure about the news but I'd consider it a preexisting condition to almost anything and everything except osteoporosis

Imagine a virus so dangerous you had to be tested to even know you had it.
Imagine a virus so dangerous it killed 134,000 Americans in 3.5 months while the entire world was in lockdown. Just imagine.

Maybe governors shouldn't have forced COVID+ patients back into care facilities?

Doesn't take a governor. Have first hand knowledge of a hospital in East Texas having to send COVID+ patients back to isolation rooms at LTC facilities. Apparently that isn't working as I know of a LTC here that had 11 residence and 2 staff test positive today.

This goes back to the argument of "just isolate the vulnerable". Who is caring for them? They don't exist in a bubble. The nurse taking care of grandma is out at the bar on Friday.

Little bit of a tangent.
