That would s great news but we are going to need billions of masks if you want to fully reopen the medical and dental facilities in this country.

Disinfection is not intended as a solution in of itself, but as an interim measure while waiting on new mask production to deliver.

"Collectively, the 60 machines will be able to sterilize up to 4.8 million masks per day and almost 34 million per week."

........so order more machines.

I am not sure what I said that countered any of this.

This is all great news. Any way to work towards filling the need of billions of masks is a good thing. Nevermind the environmental impact and medical waste disposal costs of being able to recycle 34mm masks a week.

Logistics surrounding the recycling of masks and production of new masks will remain a challenge.

It is important to celebrate the victories but it is also important to keep focused on how huge this problem is.

Yeah, it might be cheaper to use actual respirators instead of this crap that people are calling respirators. Anybody who's been through a real respirator fit test knows these disposable things are just glorified dust masks. Yes, they help, but DOD will manage to spend billions cleaning them when they might be better off just putting actual respirators on people.
