This is not going to hurt business it will eliminate many small business, I predict 25-35%. There are very, very few small business that can survive no income for 30-60 days, even if you lay off everyone you will still have property tax, utilities, insurance and rent to pay. I hope I am wrong but I think this will push us past recession and into a depression that very few alive have seen.austinaggie2003 said:
Good. Stay home and stop spreading this thing! Gonna hurt businesses, but I'd rather take my medicine now and hopefully move on sooner versus death by a thousand cuts.
Go on with it then, you gonna get arrested?Apache said:
The work I do is not "essential" (to anyone other than me as it is how I get a paycheck)
Typically involves me meeting with homeowners or other contractors on a 1 on 1 basis.
Today I did so maintaining a 6' or so distancing. Will this shelter in place impact what I do?
There are a bunch floating out there, I can only assume they are almost identical. Here is Boerne'swho?mikejones said:
Is there an essential worker list i can use to see who can and cannot work?
I think it's more for effect. And to tell people to NOT go to work unless essential.who?mikejones said:
So, im not sure the point of the shelter in place order:
Commercial and residential construction is allowed so that means the entire supply chain is allowed, correct?
Grocery, gas and convenience stores are allowed, so that means their entire supply chains are allowed.
Health, hospital, pharmacies are allowed, so that means their entire supply chains are allowed.
Govt is allowed so their entire supply chain is allowed.
And so on and so forth.
Exactly how many people will be sheltering in place? Why not just close all public parks, greenways, trails, etc.? Wouldnt that be less disruptive but have nearly the same effect?
Arrested? Haha have you seen how relaxed these protocols are? Unless they move to life sustaining work and patrol everyone on the streets there's no way you could even tell.Aust Ag said:Go on with it then, you gonna get arrested?Apache said:

Guys like you, that's not what the "intent" of this thing is. You sound like a very small business owner, unlike AustinAggie2003 above, who sounds like he has alot of employees.
I notice sheets of plastic and duct tape are not on the hoarders' list of desired items, unlike after 9/11.Quote:
Shelter in place would mean that if you were at the mall, you should stay there. "Shelter in Place" is used for imminent physical danger typically: active shooters, weather related issues, gas leaks, etc...
