Dr Rev... What are your thoughts on vaccinating my healthy 6 and 9 year olds? Neither have ever had COVID. Everyone else in their school is pretty much vaccinated. We are waiting till we see more data on the impact on kids. Thank you for your thoughts.
I tell each parent to make their own decisions with vaccinating children. Unless we see a strain that increases hospitalizations or deaths in children I lean towards waiting on the vaccine. Currently Covid is rarely severe in that age group.

Can getting the vax lead to a positive COVID test result 2-3 weeks later?

No since they do not consist of the entire genome of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Instead, these vaccines are made from a small region of the viral genome which makes a specific viral protein (i.e., the Spike protein). This is not near enough information to turn a test a positive.

Moderna is the best booster per the studies.

What's the thinking about monoclonal antibodies if you haven't had a fever for over 2 days? I first had cold like symptoms on Tuesday, when a fever started. Got tested on Thursday morning and was positive. At this point (Sunday) I only have a sporadic cough and not even a runny nose anymore. Pulse ox levels remain great. I got an appt for tomorrow to the antibody treatment (set it up on Friday as part of my plan along with doing the vitamin regimen). At this point, I'm thinking it may not be necessary. I just don't have a good idea about any symptoms that could still be out there since I'm not even a week into this.

FWIW, I was vaccinated in April, but hadn't done the booster.

Doc - have you seen people actually getting Covid twice, or is it more likely that one of those tests were a false positive?

Good morning. Been following your info. Thank you for posting so much. It is greatly appreciated.

I'm trying to get more info on the CDC's change/cancellation of the PCR tests at the end of this month.

I guess my questions are, why are they moving away from that test and what protocol will be used moving forward? There is a lot of info available, just not sure what to believe.

Thank you again.

Yes I have seen people positive twice. I am very confident most physicians have seen people test positive twice. However, most people have minimal symptoms on the second infection.

They are essentially discontinuing it because they want labs to use the newer assay which test not only for SARS-COV2 but can also simultaneously detect influenza A&B.

Doc Rev -
First, Merry Christmas. Grace and peace to you and yours. Thanks to you and the other doctors on the board who have provided good and timely information.

I have a family member in Maine who tested positive. She is 45, has lupus, healthy weight, but a smoker. She is vaccinated but unnable to get the booster yet. She is in the first 2-3 days. Symptoms are sore, scratchy throat, bad headache, and low fever. Any recommendations on what she should ask her doctor to cobsider about as early treatments? She is trying to get a telehealth appt since it is the Christmas weekend. Thanks again!

Get monoclonal antibodies, take all the supplements and I would ask for fuvoxamine for 10 days!

Doc, could use some guidance with my mom. She's 75 with high blood pressure and a hydromnious kidney.

Looks to have come down with it (close exposure, not test confirmed yet). I've got her going on the supplement / vitamin regime.

Could she start taking ivermectin given the kidney thing? Don't want to add to the situation with her.

Thanks in advance.

I would get monoclonal antibodies as soon as you know. I would look into the new Pfziaer pill for her with the kidney issues. If they can't get it then try fluvoxamine.

How do you recommend we go about getting monoclonal treatment? I have tried unsuccessfully for several days. My primary care is part of Houston Methodist and they have suspended administering them and are out. Apparently it is not effective against Omnicron (even though every neighbor I know that received the treatment the past few weeks felt almost immediately better). Since that was a dead end I have called 40 + local ER / clinics and everyone is out. Have pretty bad underlying condition and want to be proactive but the lack of available treatment is bizarre. In the interim I have been on the regime your recommended. Thought I would ask your advice here. Thank you so much for everything you have done for all.

Not sure as supply is dwindling down per reports. Also they are correct in that monoclonal antibodies are not as effective against omicron as previous variants due to mutations in the spike protein. However, they still likely have some effect.

So no supply of one of (if not the most effective treatments), very little national awareness or alignment on consistent early treatment plan, & flat out hard to get treated. So much emphasis on the vaccine (which is absolutely important) but not much on the treatment. Shouldn't it be both? Not either / or? Complete gong show.

In DFW, try the North Central Texas COVID-
19 Regional Infusion Center in Fort Worth. My mom, wife, son, and myself all tested positive Weds and were able to walk in Friday. It was a little bit of a drive but worth it, we all got treated. Wait wasn't too bad considering we were walk ins. Got there about 2PM and were done about 4:30.

I am not sure about the Houston area, but I think there is a center in Conroe. Also, it was free.

Do you have a NAC supplement that you recommend? It's oddly absent from Amazon and the pickings are slim elsewhere with a pretty big price dispersion.

Next best thing at this point is glutathione.

They are trying to regulate as a drug now so amazon dumped it. Glutathione does essentially the same thing.

What I believe he is trying to ask is if we can't get NAC is there an equal alternative and what dosage should we take?

Thanks Doc!

Have Covid with very mild symptoms. Local doc said take mucinex. I do have asthma and was wondering about budesonide. Is that something I should be taking as well? I did get prescriptions from teledoc for Ivermectin and HCQ. I'm also taking all the supplements.

I do take an inhaled steroid for my asthma. Just wondering if I need anything else.
