So why is the panic only on DFW? Gas Buddy tells me there's no gas in 2 different zip codes that I'll be in this weekend. Guess my trip home won't be on 35. It'll be based on open stations in various towns between Temple and Plano.

And one of the charter schools near oak cliff is thinking about closing tomorrow and maybe even after Labor Day.

Stations are out in pockets all over the state. It's not just Dallas.

It's mostly caused by panic buying.

We've had stations out but fine the next day. I haven't noticed a mob of people waiting in lines either. Stations on I14 look like they would any day of the week. I filled up Monday. Topped off Tuesday night after going to round rock and again Wednesday afternoon. Now I'm at half a tank and trying to refrain because old gas is no good. I have to fill up tomorrow. Now I'm concerned about going to DFW for the weekend and not being able to get home in a timely manner. Hopefully this cuts back on holiday traffic. That would be the silver lining.

Waited a hour behind 20+ cars in tiny Pipe Creek to top off truck and fill containers. Son is in SA and hasn't found anything near Live Oak to get him home to Bandera tonight. Bandera has been out since noon.

THIS is why there is a shortage. People topping off vehicles and filling up containers they probably don't need. I'm not blaming, I do the same thing. But it's the reason - news says "gas will run short", everyone runs out and buys more than they would have ever needed, gas runs short.

I guess you can't read or comprehend the English language. I have a son that is 60 miles away and out of gas. I'll be driving over to him to get him home. He has to drive 120 miles a day to get to and from work. So nice try calling me out! Now respectfully learn to comprehend.

Internet hero, go read your post again. Without your recent clarification it cannot be assumed that you topping off your truck and filling containers is to help your son.
