It seems I cannot PM you...above my paygrade.

But, I have sold & bought 3 houses in the last 5 years. Used 1 guy.

Joseph Diosana. Great marketing and follow-through.

Sounds like the flooding should not get worse, but they also said it's not going to go down along the bayou. I take it that means the street flooding in the area.

So did any homes north of Memorial flood...particularly in the Wilchester area?

I had friends there that I know left, but not sure if they did that as a result of flooding or as a precaution.

My friend off Barryknoll says he is high and dry, but that there is a lot of water the closer you get to Memorial.

Water from drains in some streets but I haven't heard of any houses north of memorial and East of DA that have water in the house.

I know this is pretty random, but does anyone know of someone we could pay to run a drone/video over a house in Lakeside Place?

It's going to be really close as to whether water got into my parent's house and they are going stir-crazy not knowing. They evacuated Tuesday night, but a neighbor took a picture Wed. morning and they had possibly another 2 feet of leeway. It's going to be close.

I had this thought as well... drones to get a current status of the damage would be great.

Be aware that some govt. agencies have said that flying drones over flood water areas is against the law.. not sure how they will enforce anything but proceed with caution

I'm not an Aggie, but my nephew is. This forum has been so helpful - so thanks to everyone for contributing. After two days of being incommunicado, we just heard from my brother-in-law that they're OK "so far". They're on Carriage Hill Dr, just west of Ashford Pkwy. No other details at this point, but that, in and of itself, is a huge relief.

Sending good thoughts to everyone impacted, and hope you all recover quickly.

The FAA has declared it all a temporary no fly zone.

The issue is if you're up flying, you could be in the path of a chopper on rescue operations and they aren't going to be looking for drones in their path, they're trying to find people on roofs.

Highly recommend against this.

I hear you guys, but I'm not really talking about today as much as in a few days once everything has completely crested. If I heard correctly, Lindner said that BBayou wasn't going substantially down for another 2-3 weeks and possibly longer. Sitting around not knowing for a month is going to be brutal. Just knowing one way or the other would relieve a lot of stress.

How far north from Briar Forrest is Eldridge accessible? My appartment complex is immediately north of Forkland; I have been out of town since about a week before the rain started. My relatives off of Enclave a few streets up have water up to their garage.

This map could also come in handy for those of you all that are in the area. I've been trying to find a real-time flood map of the area, but I think it will be up to those of you that are in the know, in the area, or on the ground. Let's keep it up to date, so others can benefit. https://map.u-flood.com/houston/#13.38/29.7569/-95.5965
I've zoomed somewhat into the Briar Forest area. Thanks for the updates.

There's a rescue staging center at Memorial City Mall. They have a command center at the bank adjacent to I-10 and Gessner. If you go by there with your coworkers info. (Name, phone, address), they'll deploy someone right away.

I started updating this area yesterday. Map is for all of Houston, so it will default to North Post Oak area @610 loop when you first open it.

It's a neat tool...

I fear it may be weeks. The substation is literally on the bayou behind St. John Vianney Church.

Everything I've read says they have no plans to let the bayou go down at all. As soon as the bayou starts to go down, they will increase release rates.

Their policy seems to be that if you are flooded, you will stay flooded, but we won't release so much water that it will further flood anyone.

Still no power but some nearby areas have it now.

IH10 WB Feeder from DA still closed.

Water has receded about 6 in on La Costa.

You should be fine at Forkland. The last I saw the water was north of Parkway Plaza. You'll probably have to come down SH6 to Briar Forest

No, we took the kids out to Katy at grandmas but have been checking on things daily. Looks like we're clear of flood waters.

Biggest concern now is looters. Friend has chased off 5 or 6 randoms over the last few days. People who have stayed have formed an informal neighborhood watch. Have people stationed at every entrance when the sun goes down.

Quote:

Creeks, streams, rivers and bayous may cause some additional flooding even as the rain stops. Cypress Creek's flooding is continuing to drop, whereas the Brazos River will crest on Sunday at 57.5 feet before it starts to recede.
The Colorado River's flood levels are plateauing and it's expected to recede throughout the week.
The Trinity River is expected to crest this Friday at 40 feet, and is expected to stay that way for the time being.
Most bayous are slowly dropping but Buffalo Bayou will continue to rise to 64.5 feet by Saturday because of the water release

So the flooding is just going to get worse? Any suggestions on how to get into Kirkwood and briar forest area from the heights? I am at a loss

64.5 ft is somewhere downstream of Dairy Ashford, since levels here are already at 76.60 as of now.

Just took a drive from Eldridge at Briar Forest.
  • Briar Forest is clear all the way to Dairy Ashford, but you cannot drive any further east from that point.
  • Dairy Ashford is clear from Briar Forest all the way South to Westpark Tollway and beyond.
  • The difference in water levels between Brays bayou at Westpark and at Buffalo bayou is insane. Brays is basically getting back to normal levels.
  • The North East quadrant of Westheimer is closed at Eldridge. Several other spots along Westheimer have water but no other closures on my route.

It isn't supposed to get worse in energy corridor. It's actually gone down a bit since yesterday.

It's getting a little worse east of bw8

Can confirm that water levels on some of the roads near Eldridge are slightly lower than yesterday.

Yesterday they said this is between beltway8 and Piney Point.

not to be too simplistic but the rises have been going downstream and I would say it's not going to get higher between Eldridge and the beltway.
