Has the electricity come back on yet Kirkwood/Memorial? Have mom in law with us who is on Myrtlea. She is ready to come back home.

Also, have trees been falling due to wet "feet"? Lots of tall 45+ old pine trees.

I have a buddy I have been keeping in contact with that lives between Kirkwood and Wilcrest N of Memorial who has power, but he also never lost power. Also, no down trees in his area.

1-3 more feet? That is scary at this point. Last night Jeff Linder said .5-1 foot increase total caused by this. We've already seen beyond a foot increase.

1-3 feet on the bayou... not sure to how that translates to how much water coming up from storm drains.

Yea I understand that. It keeps getting closer to my house though. Its still about 100yards away from me so I have some room but if it continues the same rate as the past 12 hours it's not going to be pretty.

I'm in Nottingham West. Word is that the grid has been shut down as a preemptive measure. Looks like Nottingham and Nottingham West are on the eastern edge of the grid. My guess is that it will not be turned back on until waters recede.

Was just out and about on Eldridge.

  • Kroger on Eldridge opened at 9 and there were probably 300 people lined up to get in.
  • Water has not progressed on Eldridge since last night, both from the Bayou and from the Westheimer intersection.
  • Storm drains are not filling anywhere where there is not already water.

I'm hopeful that this is a good sign for anyone downstream of us, it seems that things are not getting worse as quickly as they have been the past few days. Thoughts and prayers to everyone!

HCFCD Flood Map for 8/30

New maps released this morning. The above shows expected flooding, from my understanding.

This and other info can be found here: HCFCD Website

Hope this is good news for some of y'all.

Looks like they're off on their scenarios, cause we're south of briar forest where they show nothing and getting water into the yard now...

I tried to help a friend who lives just north of Briar Forest on Carriage Hills and couldn't make it to his house. Drove through the Westella/Whittington area and there are lots of roads holding water. Briar Forest is just about impassable and Kirkwood between BF and Westheimer was sketchy. I watched a honda make it so I drove it but really was sweating it during the drive because it was DEEP!

Do you need help? We have some friends in Walnut Bend who are evacuating.

I live in Wilchester and saw this map last night; we are just north of the blue stuff on Pinerock. I'm not sure what it means, but we already have water up a third of yard.

Does this suggest the neighborhood will have water in the streets or will all these houses now flood? I thought Linder said this morning that no additional houses would flood that didn't previously flood.

The Randall's on Westheimer at Gessner is open with no lines and is fully stocked except for crates of water and 12 packs of coke. They do have jugs of water though.

yeah the maps make it seem like it's water coming from the bayou and not from the storm drains.

must be based on elevation, there's a clean triangle in the map that looks odd.

Most of Ashford Village drains to lateral at Crystal Hill, over to Buffalo Bayou.

The Bayou has risen, pushed into lateral and back into street drains. Water seeks it's own level, so levels here are about the same as at Buffalo.

Ashford hollow still dry, no street flooding and still have power.

So water is coming out of the storm drains in Wilchester or Wilchester West?

Either way, that's concerning considering you are in the middle of either.

Gauge at Buffalo Bayou and Dairy Ashford has been holding steady this morning. Sounds like some of the water is finding lower elevations at storm drains and coming out. Evidence is Eldridge flooding at the bayou, being dry from Enclave to near Westheimer, and then flooding there again.

The water in BGP North this morning was the highest to date. Not much higher, but it had receded earlier. It has started rising again.

I live on Pebblebrook in Wilchester West and it started coming up through the drains early Tuesday morning and rose at a steady rate of 1"/hr all day. I made it through Sunday night with the water approaching my door and stopping about 7' from it which I feel is probably 2' in elevation.

I measured 1.5" from the top of my curb last night 1:15am and as of 10:55am this morning it was 6.25". The rate of rise has slowed, but its because it's starting to fan out to the Wilchester neighborhood along Glenchester. The drains on Glenchester were still draining as of 11:30am.

I've reach the acceptance stage and just preparing for what to do after the water receded, but I still have a glimmer of hope that we may crest soon depending on the reservoir releases. I currently have about 12"-14" more before it enters my home.

We still had power in village West.

Briar forest has heavy water west of Hayes and at Wilcrest.

Several roads impassible in village West.

They keep saying it won't get worse...But it is.

Just saw eldridge at i10 on the news. Unbelievable.
