I came to tanner road spillage last night around 6 and again today just now. The flooding on the streets ends at Tanner road and Brittmoore Park. It hasn't moved significantly since yesterday, although it is flowing a little more over the roads past that point and in the ditches East ofthat point.

Is anyone hearing that addicks may be structurally compromised? Not that it's causing flooding yet, but there is some compromise? I'm not seeing it on the news or internet but a friend heading to Austin said he heard it
No. If that were the case they'd be blasting it all over he news with mandatory evacs for a ton of people.

And they sent out evacs for that subdivision immediately. If Addicks and Barker had so much as a trace of integrity issues it would be mass exodus for thousands of people.
Bottom line is that we would hear it from the news outlets ASAP.

They an intermediate press conference and were talking about the Inverness forest levee in spring potentially being compromised and requiring mandatory evacuation. No risk at Barker's or addicks.

If they are requesting boat help to get back home they are consuming rescue resources unnecessarily. These boats are desperately needed east of us.

They're going back in with a canoe. They're close enough to the Tanner entrance that that may be doable. I'm hoping they don't do anything foolish.

water is not really moving in that area so they should be ok, just watch for debris and wear good shoes. Good to hear your folks house is ok Jetch, there were many south of them who had some intrusion and loe was hit bad. The guys west of you on horsepen creek didn't fare nearly as well. We only have the unpowered boats so we can't go help in east Houston where the currents would sweep us out. We are here locally if anyone needs urgent assistance, just message on here and we are on the way.

Did you happen to make it in front of Kirk Elementary (farther west towards Eldridge)? The wife work there and was wondering if the school has been impacted. It's not as important as peoples homes but was looking for any info if possible.Texicurean said:

Was a new PC on Tanner road live. It was about how the reservoir elevation has stabilized and do not expect to see it get higher. If you are north of Addicks, you are not going to get water in your house. The location was at the north east side of the reservoir dam and should the water that was the uncontrolled release going down Tanner and then down brittmore.
The people down the buffalo bayou could still see water rise again. It COULD rise 1-3 feet in different areas. But it is not supposed to be higher than previous flood elevations.

1) The USGS radar sensor reports 109.08' and has been at ~109' for about 18 hours now.
2) The top of the spillway is 108.
Seems like the reservoir height has stabilized at 109 and won't rise any further. This 1 foot depth of water is spilling in an uncontrollable release from the reservoir at Tanner/Brittmore - pictured in this thread.
The big question is how long will this level be able to sustain at or above 108. Controlled release of 12,000 cfs (or whatever the current level) notwithstanding, seems like there might be somewhere between another 24-72 hours.
That all said, Buffalo Bayou at Dairy Ashford stands to remain at or above 74.7' (500 yr flood mark, currently at ~77') for days, and possibly more than a week.

So the possibility of addicks failing or significant flooding around the ends is virtually over?
