Yeah...is it suppose to, overall, top out at 109 or is that just in the short term and may go higher?

Is the latest barker reservoir projection published somewhere? I've seen the 101.7 number listed a couple of times. This affects whether we go home sooner or later. Thanks!

According to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers estimates, the two reservoirs that are threatening thousands of homes in west Houston may not rise as much as previously expected.
Officials reported that the Addicks reservoir's water level rose about a half-foot between noon and 6 p.m. Tuesday, but engineers now think it's maximum level will be 109.1 feet. That is more than a foot lower than previously predicted.
Meanwhile, the Barker reservoir's water level rose about a third of a foot in that same period. Engineers now expect it to crest at 101.7 feet - almost 3 feet lower than previously forecast.

Great news. On a side note, non local channels coverage of Harvey sucks.

Maps show potential extent, magnitude, and timing of flooding below and above Addicks Reservoir, beyond the extreme rain event flooding that has already occurred. Also includes the operations of outlet structures and auxiliary spillways of Addicks Reservoir.

I have pictures of the communities south of west little York and west of Eldridge if someone can host them. I don't know how to do it but I can email them to one of you.

Reading the map notes they modeled this with the 4000 cfs controlled release and not with the increased release, so the flooding may not be as bad in some areas.

I would love to see them - I live in one of those subdivisions. I would host if I were able to, but have no way.

That is true. Looking at the map, it appears some water will get past the beltway. The map shows <2ft in a lot of places. Of course, there is a big difference between getting 6 inches of water and getting 23.9 inches of water.

Some folks over in the Briarhills neighborhood are concerned they might need to be evacuated if Barker keeps releasing at these rates (or go higher). Anywhere they can get up to date information on that?

They didn't update the volunatary evac orders. They rarely addressed the communities where water was being released because they were "already flooded Saturday and Sunday". They did say they were monitoring the levels of the Buffalo Bayou from Dairy Ashford to Piney Point.

Current pucker factor multiplier for my section (South of Briarforest, between DA and Kirkwood) is the water pushing back into our section @ Westmere/Nova. That section drains to the Robin Loop ditch that runs N/S from the Bayou between DA and Kirkwood.

Appears to be the lowest spot in the neighborhood but is creeping forward slowly. Been rising since this afternoon and now cresting the curb level. Already sent a few folks for the hills.

Hoping we strike a balance overnight as the water hasn't reached my street yet (East of Nova). No better way to meet neighbors though, just moved in 2 weeks ago.

My parents live in Fleetwood (6 and Memorial) and I got them out mid-day today.. The eastern part of Fleetwood apparently was rescued by boat and National Guard today.
fleetwood resident, this is correct. The whole Southside of the neighborhood is underwater. The further west you are the better but everyone has at least 3-4 feet minimum as of 5pm today.

My neighborhood took every drop of rain before it flooded. Once they opened the dam with buffalo bayou at flood stage the neighborhood flooded quickly....

I'm on rocky knoll close to dairy Ashford. No water in street yet.

Take it with a grain of salt but the green areas aren't currently flooded.

Addicks and Barker Potential Flood Maps

These illustrations depict modeling from what we projected early Aug. 29 before we increased our releases to 7000 and 6000 at Addicks and Barker Dams. Areas depicted in green are currently not flooded, as previously predicted due to the increased releases.

We're in epernay, in Kirkwood just south of the bayou. We've been flooded into the cul-de-sac since Saturday but otherwise fine. Been watching it slowly creep up the driveway all afternoon/evening. Seems to have slowed a bit since my last check at 11pn. Hoping it will hold. I've got about 6 vertical inches til it's in the house

Wanted to share this from my mom after she spoke with my sister a few minutes ago after she was evacuated in your area. Thank you to any of you on this board who are out there helping:

Melissa said Border Patrol showed up at her front door in a boat & said go now as the the Barker Dam is going to bring 2-3 ft more water into your house. If you don't go now FEMA is going to make you! They waited while they scrambled for last minute stuff to add to already packed bags & they boated to Mason & 99. At staging area they gave them donuts & pizza and drinks then a couple of Marines drove them to friends. They saw LAPD, LA firefighters, Louisiana Navy, etc all helping. They are all together, friends have 2 kids same ages. Their 3 vehicles are probably useless. The volunteers even gave the kids rain jackets and blankets. I am still crying but so grateful.
Read a story about looters posing as officials ordering people to leave their homes and then looting the homes as soon as they leave.

Hopefully this isn't the case for you as that seems suspicious.

Definitely not the case here, they were part of a crew working with several other agencies. Pretty sick if those rumors have any bit of truth to them.

A guy in Concord Bridge just posted on nextdoor that the water in his yard had begun to recede. He's been putting flags out to mark the progress as it rises.
