Anyone know of shelters south of the bayou that need help? Got a few work things to finish up but got two hands, a pack of beef jerky, and ready to work.

Did Air Force 1 just fly over Fulshear? Or whatever the helicopter is called?
They were just in Corpus. Don't think they would come down here that quick. Im sure they are going to look over Rockport area first.

Yeah probably not him, but it was a big blue and white helicopter that looked just like what I thought I've seen the prez roll in.
Addicks is predicted to crest at 110.5', although not sure when. At that level, the spillway will have ~2.5' (vertical) of overflow going down Brittmore/BW8 towards I-10 and Buffalo Bayou.

It seems to me that the water would turn south before reaching Brittmore and inundate the channel/floodway just east of Thomas Road, heading south into Turkey Creek. It also looks like it would enter Spring Branch and the Buttermilk Creek/Spring Branch Creek from that same channel.cclearman said:

This is as good as any guess - likely all of the above. Turkey Creek, Rummel Creek, Brittmore & BW8. All ends up in Buffalo Bayou ~Kirkwood/Wilcrest/BW8.

I-10 west at 99 was blocked off when I drove by at 9:30 this morning but they were forcing traffic to exit to the feeder that leads to the hospitals so I assume the hospitals are accessible from I-10 in the westbound direction.

The controlled release is no longer controlled. I assume that is at the spillway on hwy 6 just north of briar forest. That is where the reservoir is routed into buffalo bayou. There is no evidence I've seen of a birm integrity breach (wall crumbling or cracking). I can tell you water is rising south of the barker wall on 1093 at barker cypress. Fox 26 has a reporter on the ground there now. Lots of cars stalled out on 1093.

That is exactly what they said would happen in the press conf this am. The spillways are working as described. To say there are reports of barker "failing" raises a whole different level of concern. The news media has used these words interchangeably.
There is no reason to believe there has been any structural failure anywhere.
The spillways seem to be the only places the water is overflowing hence the failure of the "controlled release" ability at the spillways. In that case the water is flowing over the spillway above the release orifice.
Breaching is uncontrolled water spilling over the top.
Failing is busting open and releasing the entire reservoir all at once.
If there was indication it was failing they would be blasting that out everywhere. If you 'hear' it it's a rumor.
