We just lost power around I-10 at Wilcrest. We haven't had many flooding issues at all either. Anyone else have their power go out right after the sun came out?

Anyone in Briarforest? Friends just evacuated due to flooding at Kirkwood and Briar Forest. Can anyone speak to the water in the surrounding area? Trying to get to Kirkwood and Westheimer.

If you can get south down close, we will get you home. That shouldn't be too much of a problem. Although, right now it might be a little circuitous.

This. I drove around with a DPS trooper this afternoon and found some routes through town. 45 is closed as it enters downtown due to low lying underpasses still holding water. I10 was open, but several on/off ramps are not passable. Google Maps is pretty up to date with current road closures.

Let me know how I can help, thirdcoast.

To all, Thank you so much for the offers, I truly appreciate it. I'm getting on a plane to dfw in45 minutes and I've been told ill still have a car at the rental agency. Now I need to figure out how to get to Friendswood.

If not, you have my email from previous.

Is it safe to travel from Sugar Land to Montrose right now? Need to verify route for a friend. Portion of 90 and then 59 headed north to get into the city.

I45 South to Hwy 21 in Madisonville (or I45 to Hwy 30 in Huntsville), take either 21 or 30 over to Hwy 6.

Hwy 6>290>610.

Take 610 south and all the way around to I-45. Take 45 south from there.

After that, it is dicey from what I can tell. You may encounter water between 610 and BW-8, and definitely after BW-8.

I'm not seeing a way to get there after BW-8.

Sorry I can't get you closer.

Looking a little more, you may be able to get down I-45 from BW-8 to Friendswood. The Transtar map is saying that the frontage roads are blocked in a couple of locations.

Water will only continue to go down, so you never know.

I would take 45 south to Madisonville.
Take 21 to BCS.
Take 6 down to hempstead to 290.
Take 290 to 99 north to 249 S to the beltway to 290 to 610 south to Almeda.
Take Almeda south to Reed or Airport over to 288.
Take 288 to the beltway to 35 South.

You are going to need more information on where you are going to in Friendswood but that should help.

I can't believe 6 is open that far. I thought it was closed in multiple stretches.

It's drained enough for passage. A couple of people on this thread (I think) have posted that they drove from College Station to Houston today.

I just drove woodlands to Dallas.

So you can cruise 45 south al the way to woodlands. No problems. First high water is at san Jac bridge but it didn't hit the mainlanes.

Now once you get to the woodlands. Go west somehow. It's drier that way.

Same here off of Kirkwood. No water issues but now out of power all of a sudden.

This why I recommended going over to Hwy 6 earlier. Trying to go West from the Woodlands is nearly impossible right now.

Yeah. 99 is not an option.

But is 1488 clear over to 290?

21 to 6 should work too. And that's north of lake conroe and all the San Jac outflows.

So when are the main highways expected to recede? Particularly interested in 45 from Galveston to The Woodlands. Any insight appreciated.

Also interested in getting from The Woodlands to Port Aransas if you have any thoughts.
