My parents are in the same situation in Meyerland. There's a few 2 story houses where people are gathering - all senior citizens at their house.

Update on my parents in Meyerland:

They were able to drive to Dallas today. Woke up this morning to drivable streets after 2-3 feet in the house when they went to be at 11PM. Car was drivable - Toyota Sequoia parked in driveway took on water yesterday. They drove right down Braeswood to 610 west around to 45 at 1PM. Had some scary moments of flash flooding on 45 around Spring.

They had a boat come late yesterday but they turned it down for others to get on and made plans with the boat to return this morning but water completely receded by 7AM.

It's an off-road dump truck. Mining trucks are much larger/heavier and wouldn't be a good idea for any ground that would be soft

Beat me to it, plus they would be way too wide and tall to try and take on city streets if they're the kind of truck I'm thinking of. Besides the weight they'd run into way too much crap overhead.

If you have an iphone go to settings, then general, then reset and reset your network settings. I had to do that when my network stopped responding. It cleared my issue right up.

This may sound stupid and most people don't have to means to, but would a helicopter or a puddle jumper plane be possible? I have no idea if possible or what it would entail. Just trying to think of anything and throwing it out there.

Is Ellington used for anything anymore? Or is scholes a possibility? My nephew made it from galveston to Dickinson. Not sure how 45 to friendswood is.

I have a simple, 7-inch graduated cylinder rain gauge we got as a gift, and we've emptied it six times since Friday morning. That is more than the official gauges close by show. We have had about 7 inches since about 11 last night.

I'm there now, helping unloading. Wait till later. We are overloaded with bags and bags , running out of room for sorted stuff. Bring tomorrow, it should be better.
