Houston Ags - we will be creating a forum to consolidate Hurricane Harvey discussion later today. I'd like to move this thread over there (with others) and begin to break out the conversation a little by topic. The hope is that it will be more helpful for others and easier to consume. Is that okay with everyone?

Here is a link to a live webcam on Lake Houston. I have no idea where on the lake this is located but yesterday you could still see the piers.

Thanks, civilized05.

No house flooding that I know of, drwong. Just streets.
I just spoke with an old neighbor who moved to Country Place and he said they've got about 8" to go before the water is in their house. I'd imagine it may be a similar situation to some of the homes closer to the drainage ditch.
Man...
We've got some other friends in Southdown and they are reporting water in the streets, but houses are doing good. They're closer to Dawson HS, though.

KWCC is already under. Not the clubhouse but most everything below that based on pics I've seen.
I drove through the parking lot at noon:

Water was close to entering the clubhouse at the main entrance. On the back side by the golf shop, the cart barn was nearly fully submerged and the snack shack just across by the driving range was up to the roof.

I'd say it is worse than the 2016 floods already and going to get even more.

Be sure not to tell the folks on politics. Let them keep their hurricane discussion in that forum.

A shelter has opened up at Creekside Park Junior High in the Village of Creekside. This is an unplanned/impromptu shelter to house the people in our neighborhood who have been evacuated due to high water. Because they were unprepared, they need and are taking any and all donations (food, water, bedding, towels, pet food, etc). If you're in the area and can access the school, please consider donating.

Kingwood is flooding in the back along the streets closest to the lake. Roads are 2+ feet underwater.

What parts of Kingwood? My in laws are in Kings Point and we have friends in Woodspring who's husband is a HFD and at work.

Back of Kings point along scenic shore. Interior kings point should be okay for now.

They're over by Scenic Shore. Wife just got an update from her parents and they are fine. No power for a while, but otherwise OK. Her friend is OK as well, but alone with a 4 year old and 16 year old.

Not super close to you but I'm told the Lone Star College off of West/Barker cypress is housing people. Berry Center is taking people for food/shelter/showers but no beds apparently. Lastly copperfield church at highway 6/west is also taking families in.

We're in League City near Kemah. Heavy rain for a while, but it's not covering the street or anything at this point. Overnight Saturday it got halfway up the yard before it started going down when the rain lightened up.

Same thing with my daughter in Dickinson. Thanks for the earlier reply. Any idea how to get out of Dickinson if they choose to? Sounds crazy, but is Galveston even an option to consider? I don't know where else they could get to.

Take 1266 to 96 in League City, head west to Watershed community church

Anyone know if there is flooding at Bush? My parents are in Maine (good timing) but their car is at the park n fly lot at the airport. Trivial compared to others losing their homes, but still curious if they need to make plans when they come back.

As a side note, they got rebooked on a Thursday afternoon flight so the airport I presume is expecting to be open. They rebooked about 2 hours ago. Could change, but just a general FYI for those hoping to get to the ucla game.

Had anyone driven from San Antonio area back to Houston (heights area) yet? I've got to get back as soon as possible. Any closures, detours, etc.?

Any updates on communities off of Rayford (East side of 45)? Saw videos and pics of the flooding across from Kroger and near Richards Road. Curious as to how Imperial Oaks is doing since I am out of town. Near Kaufman Elementary.

Many many closures, including I10 and many bridges in town. Don't think you can make it in but maybe there is a way with lots of backroads. Best advice is if you can somehow manage to not go back for a day or two, do that.

Dickinson is under a MANDATORY EVACUATION for all citizens within the city. We are advising anyone who stays, there may be NO resources available for search and rescues as more flooding is expected from Hurricane Harvey. There is no specified route since most of Dickinson is still underwater. Rescue teams are still out and buses are arriving to City Hall in Dickinson to bus people to shelters.

Head north to League City, up 1266 to 96. All roads were passable ~30 minutes ago.
