Kingwood is flooding in the back along the streets closest to the lake. Roads are 2+ feet underwater.
What parts of Kingwood? My in laws are in Kings Point and we have friends in Woodspring who's husband is a HFD and at work.

So is that Lake Conroe dam opening going to be hell for Lake Houston? A friends parents are there currently, said water is rising rapidly.

I hope this BS of the west side of 288 doesn't screw over the east side of 288. It didn't last time the Brazos flooded but who knows.

How are the Friendswood folks doing?
We're close to the Methodist church and it seems like there's no way in or out of the city except through Alvin.
Neighbors in Autumn Creek said our water was going down.
You're welcome. I'm in neighboring League City and have been extremely blessed with having no issues so far. My heart and prayers are with all who are in much worse shape.Duckhook said:
Thanks for that info. Terrible to sit here 300 miles away and try to help them make decisions. I'm a pretty calm guy, but this is really frazzling me.
We are just SE of that intersection near the big water tower. I looked at a Houston topographic map online and we are somewhere around 129' elevation. Looks like the Addicks reservoir is supposed to top out around 105, so I think we are likely to be pretty safe here. If you are nearby, you probably won't have a need to evacuate unless you are much closer to the reservoir.Dwide Schrude said:
Anyone near Barker Cypress and W. Little York? If evacuation would be needed where could one go?
can you share a link to that map?txags92 said:We are just SE of that intersection near the big water tower. I looked at a Houston topographic map online and we are somewhere around 129' elevation. I just spoke with an old neighbor who moved to Country Place and he said they've got about 8" to go before the water is in their house. I'd imagine it may be a similar situation to some of the homes closer to the drainage ditch.Big Cat `93 said:
Thanks, civilized05.
No house flooding that I know of, drwong. Just streets.

My folks live in that area and left a few hours ago to the holiday inn near 290. They had a few rooms left there but I would call first.

Sources with knowledge of the situation said they expect the plant to go offline Friday, and said they were surprised it had not shut down earlier. If that occurs, residents in north Houston may receive orders to boil their water before using it.

We just evacuated Kingsland / Baker area...
I10 west was a no go a few hours ago. Couldnt get past Katy Mills... evidentally because I10 at Peterson was closed.
Frontage roads north of 10 across from Katy Mills were flooded with stranded cars.
Kings Point - the houses on Scenic Shore that back up to the lake.aTm2004 said:Skillet Shot said:

Anyone had success getting out of Katy? In-laws are stuck near the barker reservoir affected area and looking to leave. Looks like 290 is open west of barker cypress-fry road mess, but getting there is the issue.
