I have a question about the National Weather Service flood stage graphs...to what extent do they take into account projected rainfall over the next few days?
I've been watching the graph for Spring Creek for the last 24+ hours. It appears to be a feedback loop, as they adjust predictions for the coming hours as the rain totals are compiled for the previous few hours. The projections have Spring Creek at 108 feet or above until at least Wednesday afternoon; it isn't projected to go below 100 ft until Saturday.
Are those projections taking into effect the forecast rainfalls between now and then (which I know are not likely to even be accurate at this point)?
Also have to take into account Lake Conroe dam, San Jac, rivers all flowing east to us... then rainfall.
So many wildcards.
