My brother's house in Timarron Lakes flooded last night. Him and my dad left at 4:30a. Since then, spring Creek has risen another foot

Do you mind sharing any additional details? Residents are just trying to share as much info with each other as possible.

Power is out now.

Hey guys, I live out of state and have rental property off 290 at the Tidwell and Hollister exit. Haven't been able to get in touch with property mangager so not sure of the status of house.

Does anyone live or have any info on that area?
Been trying to find the same information. We're about to close (LOL) on a house on Bolivia Blvd, just off of Tidwell between TC Jester and 290. From the flood meter readings on Cole Creek and White Oak Bayou at Pinemont, it appears that everything pretty well staying within the banks even through the worst of it (White Oak looks like it just barely came out of the bank at Pinemont.)

That said, I'm only basing that off of the meter readings. Obviously I haven't been able to get anyone to visually confirm that, so who knows.

Is the area directly along I-10 (like right off the feeder near HI6) near Addicks OK? Actually headed to a hotel there from Sugar Land. It's right there near the border of the reservoir which looks scary, but is that area protected...especially when they release?

Tough finding a decent place that isn't some long commute through questionable roads and not already booked.

Thoughts on driving from Austin to Oak Forest leaving in the next 20 minutes? Roads look mostly clear and the weather gives a nice break right now

290 main and frontage closed barker cypress to fry currently.

The main is also closed? You've driven it? Only thing I see closed are on/off ramps, not actual main lanes.

Probably after the tropical storm passes through later in the week. I imagine they would be used to bring in supplies and disaster relief as a priority first.

Just visually inspected Buffalo Bayou at Eleanor Tinsley park. It's down about 4 feet from yesterday morning.
Yes and it's dropping at a nice rate. I'd say about 3 feet of that is in the last 3 or 4 hours. The north bound lane of Waugh still had a lot of water around 7 AM but is good now.

I hope I didn't just jinx it.

We're taking a beating here in Montgomery County. April 2016 has nothing on this storm. This is simply unreal to watch unfold in person.
Yep. Getting pounded right now. And just heard MoCoSO started knocking on doors along Rayford around 10PM asking people to pack a bag and leave because they're going to be under water by morning.

Dlance, do you know what neighborhoods off of Rayford are being asked to leave?

I left town on Friday to make sure I didn't get caught up in all of this. I have only lived in the Houston area a few years and what they were forecasting sounded scary enough to me at the time to leave. (My area nothing like what some of the other areas are experiencing I know)

Happy to be out, but can't help but worry about the house. Any info would be appreciated.

My heart is breaking for those who have been affected. Godspeed y'all.
WC92,

From what I could tell it was the apartments at Rayford/Richards (behind Mario's, Double Daves, etc) and the neighborhood south of Rayford where all the Milstead shops are.

Rayford is currently impassable.

I haven't heard from Fox Run. Imperial Oaks is doing well for now. Spring Creek forecast is now 112.5'. Currently 109.26'. I'll post updates as I hear/see things.

Yes, saw pics of Rayford & Richards on my neighborhood FB. Cannot pass at all.

Gateway Baptist Church across from Legends Ranch looked like it had taken on a good bit of water

I'm south of Imperial Oaks off Rayford. From pics behind us (nature reserve) creek is slowly flooding our way. Hard to tell what is the creek or the large retention pond, but the pond does flow directly into the creek at some point. Roughly .5 mile apart. Drains are full under street. They are about 5 foot deep... I might have found an entrance and gone down there before (yes, I'm apparently 12 ). So I have 5 foot of water just under my street, rententions all full, creek creeping up.

Judging where we got to last May (at 108') if the creek does reach 112.5' it will be VERY close to flooding 50+ houses in my area, if not more.

Praying. If it does happen, others have it much worse. Being away from your home & helpless is the worst. Feel for everyone going through this or who has already experienced damage. I am happy to help anyone in Houston, Aggie or other. We need a volunteer page after this slows.

Has anyone checked the tides versus how fast it's draining?

I'm wondering if we are going to get some help from a low tide soon.

I think I have a mission.....

See my post above...are you near this neighborhood?

Yes. Wow. A bit hard to explain but you actually drive through that older neighborhood shown to get to our subdivision. We're newer and drainage/elevation was better planned. This kills me to see because these folks all just re-did their houses last yr . Unfortunately, the ditches (no underground) are almost nonexistent in some sections. Lots of kids and families live there. Hard to watch.

So far our section is ok. My neighbor stayed and is posting pics for us. What's scary is our section got worse after the rain last year as everything east flowed our way. Behind us. Spring Creek is normally .5 miles behind us. This is likely a mixture of the creek and retention pond.
