wife had me change the channel too. if we're really getting 15-25 inches of additional rain this is going to be so much worse. I can't even make sense of itgigemJTH12 said:

As an fyi almost all hebs closed at 3 today for partner safety and we are trying to open at 9a tomorrow to prevent anyone driving in the dark. We are only asking partners that can get there with 100% safety so we may be shortstaffed and we are receiving no trucks so we may not have everything. This message is for those of you who can get to and still may need supplies.

In Coles Crossing (barker cyp north of 290) and getting heavy rains, friends in back of the neighborhood off telge about to take on water if they haven't already.
Starting to get sketch at our house, checking water every hour out front.
Having a 3 month old really makes this a scarier event
Is there a way for you to get out?

I agree. They need to release the water but it seems like they want to get all the people out that flood plain when the next round hits.jayelbee said:BadAzzBohemian said:
Not at 100 yet.
We live on the west end of the reservoir...our back yard literally falls off about 8 feet down into it.
--------------
This was sent by Harris County flood warning system earlier today:
Attention residents of neighborhoods bordering the Barker Reservoir
Unofficial communication from the Army Corp of Engineers has provided important information regarding homes in and around your subdivision. Due to the urgency of this information and the difficulty of getting a timely official communication from the Harris County Office of Emergency Management, your area HOAs are providing this information to you in an abundance of caution.
The information we currently have from the Army Corp of Engineers is that their weather models, in conjunction with the National Weather Service, shows that water levels inside the Barker Reservoir are expected to peak at 105ft above sea level. This will be a record amount for the reservoir and will bring about significant flooding behind the reservoir, into many of our neighbors homes and streets. The first and lowest elevated homes to flood, at 97ft, will occur around 7pm this evening, the 27th. Waters will continue to rise to peak levels on approximately September 4th, after rains have subsided and bayous have emptied into the reservoir.
--------------
It has been absolutely pouring here the last hour or two...so things are definitely getting worse in this area.
We have a friend who works with the Corp of Engineers... and is very familiar. Said they are predicting flow around the back ends of the dam at 104'.
We really need a source on this. Something like this is going to **** a lot of people up.
