I will be the first person to admit Texas is beatable. But I will agree with Luke and twk that it is ridiculous for Aggies to be touting a Texas loss when they have so much to be proud of regarding their own team's performance over the weekend.
But I was just saying yesterday to a friend of mine, who is a senior at A&M, that the Aggies can definitely challenge Texas. The Horns have all the offense in the world most of the time, but the pitching is suspect. Texas fans can hope our pitching is sort of like A&M's hitting was prior to this weekend ... it's there, just not producing much yet.
But I haven't had a great feeling about the pitching all season. We had to rely pretty heavily on our bullpen to beat Stanford and Arizona, and it's kind of a scary thought, getting closer and closer to conference play, that our starters are struggling to last 4 innings.
Having said all that, Texas has still taken 5 of 6 from two top 10 teams. Those have all been close, except for the loss at Arizona which was close for 8 innings. The fact that they can pull off those close wins without stellar pitching is pretty indicative of how good the team is overall.
