quote:Adrian Alaniz doing a much better job for Texas than McCulloch did. 2 Ks, several pop-ups, and a pick off at 1st.
To be fair 5 of those 8 runs were unearned and the result of 2 untimely fielding errors. The sunny side of that game is Freshman Jordan Street going 5 innings and surrendering only 1 hit to a team with that came into the weekend batting .355 and averaging 11 runs a game. Come to think of it holdng them to .270 and 5.3 runs a game isn't to shabby either.
I know most of them were unearned, and McCulloch is a good pitcher. But he had a bad outing. A really bad outing. He gave up 8 hits and 8 runs in two innings. Regardless of how many of the 8 runs he surrendered were unearned, he was ineffective. Alaniz wasn't outstanding, but he was better than McCulloch
