So I got my first spot in Aggie Alley tonight. My buddies and I are pretty pumped, but we were wondering if anyone has some schematics of what they have done with their tailgate. We are starting to pull some ideas together, but would appreciate some input.

no, i just didnt remember who you are, and it seemed to me that you know who i was, so with that said, who are ya? . dont know how much the rally rooster will be out there, everyone is getting older and/or graduated.. The rooster still belongs to Eric and Justin, but alot of us that took care of it wont be out there..

but i will def. miss being out there.. Getting old sucks..

There is usually a TAMU officer out there but as long as you don't leave beer in the can or something else obvious like that and don't act like a drunken ass, they won't bother you. Well, at least they never bothered us.

As for the original question:


The platform for my truck is 2*6's bolted together. The width is four foot and the length is about an inch shorter that the width of my side mirrors on the truck. Put a piece of 1/4 inch plywood on top and 3 2*4s and 2 2*8s as cross support. The 2*8s are measured just right to fit the inside width of my bed so it fits snug and won't slide side to side. Also have some rails that I made out of 2*6's and 2*4s but rarely put them on. We just pick it up and slide into the back of the truck on gamedays. Goes on and off really easy. Never weighed it but it's probably around 100 lbs or so. We got an outdoor swing with shade to put on it. Nice and comfortable. Got bored and decided to paint it and put carpet on it. Looks great and serves it's purpose.

Ok, Brad and I combined our efforts and purchased our spot this year and like in years past we will be the ones giving our friend the opposing left outfeilder the time of his life. Our megaphone was lost in the tragic grilling accident of '04 (more like we ran over it) but never-the-less I am in the process of obtaining another. I have worked out all year for my final season as a student... Let's hope the Rally Rooster is not needed as much. But when our Ag's are down, I will be there running the pole back and forth, for the Rooster is where it's at.

I'll be out there on occasion. Some friends of mine are in spot 12.

2000 Ag, are you Justin? Anyway, I would like to be out in Aggie Ally but I now live in San Antonio. Had lots of fun ragging the left fielder. Maybe I'll squeeze back in if any of the same guys from last year are still there.

I had the best time ever at a baseball game in Aggie Alley back in 97-00. All you need for a great time are the following:

1 Truck (backed in preferably)
1 couch (placed across bed of truck)
1 5 gallon turkey fryer
30 lbs crawfish
alcohol (taste and quantity depending on person)
1 helping of Aggies whooping ass on opponents
1 group of great friends

getting old and having to live in the real world is depressing...
