Yep, the metrics vs Auburn are pretty even.
Adv Ags - winning %, 1.5 games ahead of Auburn in SEC, did not get swept
Adv Auburn - won 2/3 @ aTm (big), SOS/RPI
Even - vs common opponents (Auburn 11-7, Ags 11-6)

Funny how the Poll has been skewed like this and then our National Seed projection has been 8. I think we win our first game and are a solid national seed. Win 2 and would hope we're in the discussion to hop the Sips with a 3-0 SU on them this year.

Tourney results only tend to lately impact bubble teams and not by much.

goes both ways. we lost 2 series in a row and didnt really fall off in the rankings like some might expect. they look at trends moreso than week over week results.

It would be interesting to see where we would be ranked had we won the second game from Auburn.

Agree on ranking BUT and admittedly I haven't read it all (I have a job) but I think generally this is as transparent a ranking as there is anywhere in sports. Those guys document the why more than anyone.

What does "have a job "got to do with/anything?

Doesn't matter. IMO we're locked in for a 7-9 seed. Probably 8.

it would be helpful to make it to at least the semifinals but we are rigjt there for a top 8 seed.

Really? Please link to their methodology. It isn't in the ranking page in mobile at least.

I'm happy with that. Lost, series to Auburn and Ole Miss, followed by a great series win at home.

that is the beauty of it. but it reinforces our positioning from the regular season. win a game in the tourney and i like our chances.

As questionable as some of these "rankings" are, the current projected top 8 seeds is even more questionable. Bama ahead of Auburn when Auburn holds the head-to-head.

Agains, it's really all subjective in the end. Even when those final national seeds are released.

Bama swept Auburn this year. Bama has the head to head.

We never got swept. I think that is big.

It's weird D1 rankings put us at 10, but D1 also predicts us as the 8 seed.

At 10, if we lose Friday to Auburn, I still think NCAA finds a way to match us up for a tu super (5-12 or 6-11?). I'd rather not but if that happens we will just have to BTA.

I'm pulling for a win against Auburn and maybe another win this weekend too, and then a 7 or 8 seed. Let's do this!

Re the D1 8 seed and the 10 ranking, I guess they think 9 teams
playing better than our Ags right now, but an 8 seed is based on
the Ags body of work and all metrics for the entire regular season.
