"We have arguably the best team in the nation if you exclude pitching. The depth is just incredible."

I know what you mean and I think I agree. But that's kind of like saying Houston has the best weather in the country excluding summers.

Point I was trying to make was the lineup is stacked with incredible depth.....pitching is lacking. Why not utilize your NIL dollars for the portal to add a weekend starter.

I think it's a talent problem. Even before the season, this pitching staff was gambling that 2 pitchers would come back from surgery and perform at a high level. It obviously didn't play out.

I'm surprised this team hasn't given up more runs through the season since it can only put together 1.5 days of solid to half decent pitching. I'd bet that Kelly over-performed with what he has.

The title of your post ... "Question regarding our pitching" ... is all any of us needed to see. The whole pitching situation this year has been the worst I've seen in near 50 years of Aggie baseball. We have plenty of pitching. And most of it is mediocre -- especially in a conference like the SEC. And this dilemma is solely on the coach. No excuses. He whiffed during the offseason. The only bigger whiffer in the conference is the coach at LSU.

Despite the naysayers on TexAgs this weekend was outstanding work by our pitching coach. We limped through the weekend without our best pitcher against the 5th best ERA in the SEC and won the series. Onward and upward.
