Ole Miss just a couple of years ago, Miss St the year before that. It's actually been more of a trend recently.

Ole Miss and Miss State didn't even make the SEC tournament.

How many top 8 seeds will go to the SEC this year?
As things stand now the Big 10 will get one for sure and maybe two.
ACC will probably get two.
Independents like So. Miss or Oregon St. might get one.
So that might leave 3 or 4 for the SEC? The Aggies have series against two of the contenders coming up in Auburn and Ol Miss and at no. 15 MissSt could be as well by the time we play them. Things are going to be interesting.

Vandy gave tu Game 3. Pitching and catching were awful. Wild pitches, walks, hit batters, and passed balls generated 3 of the 4 runs. It was a total giveaway.

The problem with Oregon St. is that 2-2 Q1 record and the best team they have left is home and away Tuesday split with RPI #95 Portland. Their best wins are at #9 USC and at #26 Oregon (they lost their home game against Oregon). Their next best win is all the way down to a neutral site split of two games against #50 Michigan to begin their season. That is a pretty light resume.

we would like the SEC to get as many top 8 seeds as possible
so hopefully five
to minimize the chance of an SR pairing with a fellow SEC team
prefer not to rematch Florida or Auburn or Ole Miss in the supers
it was nice playing non-SEC teams during the 2022 and 2024 postseason runs

Has the SEC ever gotten 5? That seems like a lot.
UCLA, GT, UNC will for sure get a top 8 spot and I highly doubt the SEC gets the rest
