The rattlin bog came in the middle of the season. If I'm correct, the first game it was ever played was against Auburn. And we had already played SEC games.

First game was Vanderbilt and we slapped them around that weekend. Rattlin Bog was played so much.

I love that the Fightin' Texas Aggie Baseball players are the ones who are organically selecting these songs to celebrate hits, runs, and when pitchers enter a game.

I also find it peculiar that this post about the change from "Rattlin' Bog" to "Turbulence" has four pages of commentary in one evening, both for and against this change. Sometimes you just have to roll with the punches and especially roll with whatever our student athletes chose to be the traditions for the sport in which they compete. I support whatever motivational songs the student athletes want.

Rattlin' Bog had its moment. I enjoyed it. But we've played different stuff over the years, and survived the changes.

Can anyone remember what Derick Grubbs played for homerun celebrations? I remember the team going to OSU in '87 and talking about what OSU played for homeruns with a bit of envy. Some things will never change.

This sucks. The bog was awesome, I'll never forget the celebration following that last win against Oregon and the bog blasting from the speakers with my kids dancing all the way to the parking lot. Hate to see it go

I think that's fair. But I don't associate it with the POS. I associate it with the team. If we changed every tradition that involved a POS, we'd be short on tradition.

I think it's fine to change if done right, or even lessen to a smaller exposure like a walk-off or grand slam. But turbulence won't connect with fans either. It's going to be a new song every year from here on out.

Of course. But once every blue moon, the team's new thing really resonates with the fans and it sticks around. Most fall to the wayside. Pringles are gone; the bubbles stay.

The bog was more like bubbles than pringles.

Of course, the real irony is the team decided they want to change it exactly one week before we play a game ON ST PADDY's DAY.

I don't think this lady is making the decisions on this, sounds like the players are and she's just the messenger.

My peoples… yall act as if we gave up the bubbles or the rifleman or ball 5…. It was something silly that stuck for a minute…. Yes the bog was fun.. but we don't have to grab on to every little thing… it's almost like we are hoarders… the fans didn't start the bog… so just let it slip into oblivion

I think current students own traditions and are free to change them. I encourage our baseball team to ask for any new thing that makes them confident to win!!!
