Don't the players have more to concern themselves with at this point?

I've thought about it but idk how I'll get one in. Maybe make friends with someone in a suite and they can sneak it in for me
Growing up, half the section had their backpacks with them after coming straight over from class. They had snacks, Twinkies to pass out if there were any XL players on the other team, and several were studying in the stands an hour before the game.
It's actually one of the fondest memories I have at the ballpark when I was in elementary. It made Olsen truly feel like a home away from home.
I used to bring in freebirds and the green apple cokes from HEB in my backpack.

Bummer.
I'll always associate the Bog with the most successful A&M team ever and a dream season that was almost perfect.

Hearing turbulence playing instead of the Bog didn't feel as fun. The Bog was so fun to dance to and sing and was super corny

The run song is "The Hum" the new home run song is "Turbulence" but they do sound the same

Literally did not hear a difference.

I remember getting a Monster at FB, driving straight to Olsen, walking to the stadium, putting the burrito through the fence on the ground inside Olsen (they wouldn't let you just come into the stadium with one-never considered a backpack), then having my ticket or sports pass scanned and going in and picking up the bird and heading up to me seats. I can taste the burrito just thinking about it.

Sausages cost $5 and you could get Coke products.
Yet they still do that goofy hand-signal after HRs that resembles a horns-up that LaViolette started doing. Just do a Thumbs Up.Renn_dls said:
Schott started the tradition and bc he's no longer here they got rid of it. I think that's stupid

I loved Rattlin Bog when it started. Hell it's on my daughter's playlist after the war hymn that she wants to listen to every morning on the way to school, but I thought it lost some of the novelty. If the players weren't into it, I'm good with the change. Not sure I love the new one just listening to the song. I didn't have volume on for the game tonight.Renn_dls said:
From one of the players
"we believe that the rattling bog was chosen by that team for them and we wanted this song for us and to change and not live in the past"
"we want the crowd to join what the dugout and pen does"
"at the end of the day we love it as a team and believe it will be the best for us also it is Jason Hutchins favorite song and the arm stuff was inspired by him as we play it before every start as the starter is wading up and since he's been here for 30 years and doesn't get as much credit we thought he deserved it"
My personal stance is that the Rattlin bog is so special. Not because of the year it was played, but because of how random it was. It's special because a home run is the time to be excited and party, and we would dance and sing to the bog. And you hear Turbulence in so many venues, but you never hear the Bog. I'll never fully understand or think I can agree with the decision, but if they believe this new song will make them play better and makes them happy, then I'll do it because I want what's best for them and for them to know I'll always cheer and yell for them.

It's as much about the fans as it is the players. Even more so when they might be gone next year anyway to another highest bidder.
Tradition was created naturally, let it evolve naturally.
This won't help them relax or celebrate or hit more home runs, so I'll disagree and say this is still a dumb move, even if the players request it. Dumb move, IMO. At least keep it for grand slams or something. Transient players shouldn't get to determine traditions.
Fans aren't going to connect with turbulence how they do with Rattlin Bog. The bog became immediately identifiable to our program. Turbulence is generic.

Crowd isn't going to be joining a generic song. Especially when now next year's team will just vote for their own.
I know it's hard to understand traditions (even rapidly formed ones) as a 20 year old that's removed from the fans, but this one will fall flat.
