This is one of the times I forget you're young
My A&M baseball fandom is only 4 years old so in that sense I guess I am.
But if we're being real, my kids make me feel much older than I actually am.

My husband is only about 16 years into his Aggie baseball fandom and sometimes I call him young too.
I started sometime in high school so 35 yearsish
I would be completely fine with giving CP a chance if ME doesn't work out in the next couple of years.jdciti said:
Awesome news!! The players can learn a lot from him!
I played against Cliff in little league and HS and we were friends and kept in touch at A&M! Dude was a stud but always the hardest worker and most humble guy
Day he got drafted by the A's in 1st round, I saw him and congratulated him and asked him how his negotiations were going.
He said he signed already and wanted to get to work!! Said he got a fair deal and he's living his dream!!
I'd imagine assistant job salaries in the SEC compete with small school HC jobs. And it puts him on the radar for more openingsWes97 said:
Yeah my first thought was that this was a career risk for Pennington.... But the more I think about it, I am with you.
If it works out then he gets a lot of credit and gets to add major SEC assistant coach to his resume. If it doesn't work out, then he still has an impressive enough resume that he should have no problem getting another high profile assistant job.

When Cliff played at A&M I looked forward to him fielding a ground ball behind 3B bag, near the foul line.
His subsequent throw across the diamond was a fricking rocket. He was so much fun to watch. Great player.

Can we bring in Knoblauch to be the hitting coach, just not the throwing coach.

Are we for sure Kelly coming back is a great win...?AggieNattie said:
Kelly confirmed staying as well. This has been in the works for the last 24-30 hours, but @DBU_Baseball assistant Cliff Pennington is headed to Texas A&M as an assistant, replacing Will Fox. In other news, pitching coach Jason Kelly is expected to stay put on the @AggieBaseball coaching staff. https://t.co/strZgxlbCn

Yeah but you say that about our hitters, and they definitely degraded.Lonestar_Ag09 said:
Starting pitching I agree...most of those were also known quantities coming into the season

Not impressed with Kelly. Our rotation was solid when he got here. Didn't see a whole lot of change coming out of the bullpen from last season. I believe we are stuck with his buy-out if he is let go. Really impressed with the Pennington hire!!!!
