Awesome news!! The players can learn a lot from him!
I played against Cliff in little league and HS and we were friends and kept in touch at A&M! Dude was a stud but always the hardest worker and most humble guy
Day he got drafted by the A's in 1st round, I saw him and congratulated him and asked him how his negotiations were going.
He said he signed already and wanted to get to work!! Said he got a fair deal and he's living his dream!!

This is a great hire. Pennington is beloved by the DBU players, fans, and other coaches. Big loss for the Patriots, but big pick up for us. He brings instant credibility to the staff and program.

My husband is only about 16 years into his Aggie baseball fandom and sometimes I call him young too.

I started sometime in high school so 35 yearsish

I would be completely fine with giving CP a chance if ME doesn't work out in the next couple of years.

I'd imagine assistant job salaries in the SEC compete with small school HC jobs. And it puts him on the radar for more openings if when he's successful here.

His subsequent throw across the diamond was a fricking rocket. He was so much fun to watch. Great player.

I think this is a good move by Cliff. He gets experience in SEC. If the Aggies turn it around, he gets some of the credit. If they don't Earley probably probably gets the blame.

Pitching was the least of our problems. Hell our pitching was good enough that, if this was just an average hitting team, we would have been hosting.

Yeah but you say that about our hitters, and they definitely degraded.

I give him credit for keeping the staff solid even when losing the best bp guys. Hitting was so awful, it needs a completely new approach.

Not impressed with Kelly. Our rotation was solid when he got here. Didn't see a whole lot of change coming out of the bullpen from last season. I believe we are stuck with his buy-out if he is let go. Really impressed with the Pennington hire!!!!

You could make an argument that the pitching staff is the only thing that improved as the season went on. Freshcorn's development was noticeable and the bullpen as a whole was better in May than in February/March. I'm not a huge Kelly fan, but it's not like his players just got more and more awful as the season progressed.

I agree revamping hitting. PArt of my opinion with keeping Earley was he needed to flip the assistants... 1/3 is a bit disappointing

Addmitadly part of my issues with pitching were poorly timed substitutions or lack of...and thats probably more on Earley but a stronger pitching coach might have had an impact there
