I'm sure I'll get bashed for this question, but why are A&M baseball tickets so much more expensive than other schools, including that one in Austin. Yes, I know you can sit in the grass on the right field side for cheaper but I was looking at the Missouri weekend, and it's going to cost over $200 a ticket for the Saturday game. I'm not going to pay over $1000 for my family of four to go watch a game after you pay for tickets, fees, concessions, and parking. That is outrageous. Go ahead and flame away.

Because we are winning, if you are buying on the secondary market.

And it's early to be doing that. (Not Earley)

Yea. Don't pay that.

Even secondary those will come down to $20-$25 closer to game time. I'd bet you could even snag some for face or potentially free on the ticket exchange board day before the game you want to go to.

I've also had luck at the ticket window day of the game for GA.

Also remember the GA tickets get you access to left and right field bleachers in outfield as well. I sat out there super regional and not that bad of a seat except it was hot. They also have concessions out there but not sure how great they are. Just keep looking on secondary markets and also the ticket exchange on Texags. Aggies will sell them on there for reasonable prices but have to look often because they usually move pretty fast.

Have you looked at the prices on the secondary market for our road games? They are t cheap, either.

Because the A&M leadership didn't want to see empty seats in February/early March or on midweek nights. It's stupid and another short sighted decision. What's the matter with filling the stadium with locals with cheap seats on a Tuesday night?

Not many seats. We don't even have seats down the baselines. for a school with 60,000 current students and huge alumni.

Arkansas was expensive on the road in Fayetville, but that's largely because they sell so many tickets. Same for Tennessee. It's the only thing going on in those areas. Probably plan their vacations around their home games.

I'm looking at the Missouri weekend, and it's closer to $120 for a pair of tickets, but if you need 4 tickets…much fewer options and it balloons to $200 each. I'm sure they'll plummet at some point, since people are trying to make a profit right now and have all the leverage. Could also try the Ticket Exchange board on TexAgs.

I did the Lawn last year for a busy weekend, and it wasn't that enjoyable since the Lawn itself was full and we had to stand, peering over people standing in front of us.

I'm going to UGA. Check out the tickets for the Saturday game in Athens. Weekend baseball isn't cheap in the most places in the SEC.

Missouri is also graduation weekend, so a lot of people will be in town.

I didn't even think about graduation. Good point. I'll also keep an eye out closer to the game. I'm a planner and like to have everything squared away in advance. Guess I can't do that with baseball tickets. Thanks everyone.

Mizzou game still has general admission tickets for about 15-20 dollars. If you get there an hour to an hour and a half early you can sit in section 202 or 203.

Seriously. Bring a blanket. Get some GA tickets straight from ticketing office, its not even sold out. Paying a $1000 for 4 tickets is just asinine.

My dad does this every single year- and it's like my favorite annual conversation.

Calls me to ask for advice on when he should buy tickets to whatever football road game we're going to, immediately disregards my advice that he called to ask me for (which has always been- 'absolutely not now'), and buys them within hours anyway.

It's like my favorite annual tradition, bc he can't handle not having them way in advance.

And no matter how many times I try to tell him "there's no venue in the world you can't show up and get into, and the double digit number of times buying early was bad, vs the twice it may have worked out- you'd be up thousands".

Look, you can buy on the second market high if you panic buy, but prices often come down.

There are also walkup tickets available 1.5-2 hours before the gates open.

You gotta know how to work the system at Blue Bell. I never pay those prices.

Not as easy as it once was....that's for sure.

Because you can't fill the stadium with locals on a Tuesday night. A ton of Tuesday night tickets go unused and I typically cant give mine away.

Yep. There is an underlying presumption that all of the locals want to go to the games. That is not the case. They have stuff to do, or prefer to watch on tv.

They would have built a bigger stadium but didn't get the donations. We barely got what we have now if Blue Bell didn't come in and finish off the donation.

Expansion has been in the plans but just never can make it to actual construction for numerous reasons, swapping coaches (mostly in football), swapping ADs, other projects got put ahead of Olsen, etc.

Not sure how leadership wanted seats in Feb or March. I bigger stadium would have even more empty seats then esp if the weather is really cold.

Byrne built a new ballpark in Nebraska that had large berms down both lines, that were very popular with the fans. State's ballpark, considered by most the best in college baseball, has a couple of small berms. Florida just built a new park with large berms and the fans there love them. But, the middle aged folks that post on Texags don't like berms, and are not happy that they can't buy reserved armchair seats for a big series at face value, so they complain about the berms.

We weren't selling out season tickets when we did the renovation (I was even able to add a seat), so there wasn't demand for more seating at the time, nor really the money to do it. Now, things have changed, so we will add more seating when someone comes up with the money to build it.

I'm a season ticket holder and there really aren't too many open seats for a Tuesday. I think the attendance is decent.

IMO - The stadium needs seats down both foul lines at a minimum. We need to also add some premium seating where bleachers are in the outfield. Like a grilling area. Allow people to bring in coolers, etc.

We need a lazy river between the outfield fence and train tracks...

You must sit in a different section than I do, because last Tuesday in 210 I had my entire row to myself until the 4th inning fill in and some of the GA people came over to sit.

Those tickets are sold and the revenue generated already, right?

Arkansas publishes that over 10,000 attend their Tuesday games (a quick google search). I think thats tickets sold and not the actual gate number. Its not like empty Tuesday night games are abnormal across the SEC.

this is so much true, i never had to buy season tickets in old Olsen, we would buy before the season the big series games, sips, tards, etc. Then we'd sit GA for the others. Or just buy 3rd base line at the gate.

Many years our group bought discount cards that got you punches for the game, you'd sit in last section of 3rd base line.

i can remember out dugout club, the berms had plans to be real seats if they money came thru, it didn't. And it just hasn't been priority with all the other stuff going on.

Correct. We publish sold also, not butts in seats. I was just referring to the decent attendance comment that was made for Tuesdays. If the stadium was 10k, you could have $1 tickets on most Tuesdays and it wouldn't sell out. Tomorrow might be different with SHSU or when other local D1 schools come to town, but many Tuesday games have $1-3 tickets available as is with current capacity.

the Carolina series was the one to attend -- to get great value from the secondary market

prices will be back up for LSU and Missouri

Prices at Alex Box have escalated quite a bit. And that's a capacity of nearly 13,000 with their revised seating.

You put a good product on the field, and watch prices climb.

Ags are very generous if they aren't using their tickets.
