Any chance this game is called, as is, due to weather?
No way they try to play tomorrow.

There may be a very brief break but otherwise raining and storming until midnight. I seriously doubt this game is finished.
Our AD needs to let them have it about the late start times with very bad weather coming.

jkag89 said:It is basically saying it is an official game if 5 innings are complete or 4.5 innings if the home team is up. In other words, this game meets the criteria if they can not resume due to the weather.zephyr88 said:Thanks - I read it a couple times and didn't get it.AggieMD95 said:zephyr88 said:Sorry, for being obtuse, but in 4th grade English...TexAgs23 said:
In SEC baseball, if a game is suspended due to rain after the 6th inning and cannot be resumed, the game is officially considered a regulation game if the home team is leading at the end of 4.5 innings. If the visiting team is leading, the game becomes official after 5 completed innings. If the game is tied or the visiting team leads in the 6th, it becomes a suspended game and is resumed later.
If we can't resume tonight, do we get the W?
Or do we have to play it later?
I think it means a dub
Above explanation makes no sense

Is there a max amount of time we have to wait it out? Is it an up decision or the coaches' decision?

Correct. Apologies on the wording... I copied from my phone and didn't proof read it before posting.
Since there are no classes tomorrow, the SEC rules on when to officially call it are about as clear as the last sentence on my original post. Seems like it's ultimately up to the Umpire.
that doesn't even matter now bc 5 full have been played and this game is officialpowerbelly said:jkag89 said:Why not? The final game was originally scheduled for tomorrow. The weather tomorrow is the reason the game was moved. They won't be able to play.
But there's no rule that they can't play tomorrow. They cannot extend to Sunday. IF the weather allows they can resume tomorrow, however unlikely that may be.powerbelly said:jkag89 said:Why not? It's 9pm. They're kids not MLB players. The right thing to do is call the game.
