To me the results at bama are still tbd. I don't believe he has ever coached a team past regionals
He didn't have much to work with last year and I thought he had some key injuries but still made regionals and nearly hosted iirc. This year his SEC results haven't been incredible. He's only got 1 noncon loss, but idk how their schedule was without looking it up. I totally get the hesitation, but I think there's a lot of potential and enoigh substance to bet on it. I'd have him on my short list if the higher profile calls don't go our way.
Weren't we told by TA folks last year we did in fact reach out to the Clemson, Florida, Virginia, DBU, tt, Arky and Tennessee coaches? Most said no pretty quickly, allegedly Vitello seriously considered it, ut matched our offer.

Heefner isn't working at a public university and likely never leaving DBU, doubt we even called tadlock he's washed in the NIL era, DVH is very old he's not leaving Arkansas I'd be surprised if we even called. For the rest the timing was pretty rough.

Would definitely make another run at O'Connor, Bakich, etc just to see if the better timing this year makes a difference.

I believe Arkansas is a legitimate threat to get Tony one day because of his strong connection there. With as many "action" shots Tony posts of Morgan Waller, Peyton, and he boating on the lake, coupled with the boosters' deep pockets, any other team is a long shot at best.
I think Vitello is going to be a Tennessee lifer. Wes Johnson seems the more likely candidate to replace DVH at the moment.
Make teams pay up to keep coaches. Use up their resources even if you have no plan to hire them
what's wrong with the oregon coach to state uninterested? i may be missing something but i think he has ben there just a few seasons and he has them poised to host a regional and are ranked in the top 10. what's not to like about him?
We all got an up close and personal look at him last year. I was not impressed.

A&M has no options because their athletic department is flat ass broke due to dumb choices.
