There is definitely a coaching component to it. We went from a hard ass to a players coach. Everyone on the team seems to have assumed we'd just coast into Omaha. Then we get punched in the face with some adversity and our coaching staff has no answers. Just listen to an interview with Earley and then listen to Schloss and ask yourself who sounds more competent? It's not very close.

Then you have this dynamic where our players convinced the AD to hire their guy and now they are about to end his career with how they are playing for him. That's a lot of pressure. And i don't see how anyone else takes a chance anytime soon on Earley as a head coach, certainly not at the SEC or any other similar level of team.

The number of two strike extra base hits by Aggie opponents is incredible. This has to be the worst team the Aggies have fielded in a quarter century. Yeskie was not a good pitching coach. Kelly is awful. Longley is worse on the hitting side.

It is hard to imagine that you could mess players up this bad without intentionally doing so.

It feels like the team has quit. Am I wrong?

True true. I have a baseball kid myself, and I see it and know it, but this is just pretty extreme. They came off an amazing season and confidence should've been sky high to start the season. They had all the reason to walk in cocky. From the first game they've looked timid and lost. And honestly, I hate it for the players as much as anyone, especially the ones that returned for a revenge tour. They deserve to have their dynamite season after what happened to them after the last game in Omaha. I'm really sad for them, they're kids and I know they want it more than any of us.

Really good point about the pressure to perform for Earley after pushing for his hire. That's something I haven't considered and I can totally see that getting in their heads.

Hopefully Weston can close this one out.

Five pitches after coming into the game is a step towards that.

Of course we don't need F bombs and the guy was out of line but he wasn't wrong.

Earley wife was on the concourse behind him and she went to him yelling at him… I think in that situation it's probably better for her to just walk away.

We need 17 outs from the bullpen tonight; honestly a run rule wouldn't be the worst thing. I liked the idea of trying to make Ryan wear it, but it's clear they were all over him. Fine with the change at this point but why not some of the freshman you weren't expecting to pitch this weekend... just doesn't make any sense.

This season has to be the most A&M thing I've ever seen.

I feel so bad for the team.
