Every team is a work in progress at the start

Every team out there is a work in progress right now (even though that never truly stops until the end), coaches are realizing how pieces are fitting together and whose in the best form as every college baseball team is different from year to year. Every coach out there will be learning about his team for the next few weeks as live action really shows where players are at.

I'm not worried about the slow start on Friday (bad weather) and some of the miscues. Coaches routinely have to fix those in the beginning of the season. Look at Elon catching pop-ups, each team has the stuff they have to work on.

you are exactly right and it is a long season. what you are looking for is your pitchers to throw strikes, your defense to make the plays it is expected to and good plate awareness throughout the lineup. you also want to see a team that has that alpha male, hate losing competitive edge personality.

i actually took the first game as a positive. teams that want to be great find ways to win.

I'm not so sure the pop up thing is Elon, or just that side of the field. Some strange juju happens over there.
