Think a big check was a problem, Ryan Johnson, who they drafted and paid $700k over his slotted amount had something to do with it. Also think he got a decent NIL contract

My first thought was how awesome this is for us next year.

As both a Rangers and Astros fan (grew up in DFW, lived in Houston for 12+ years) my very distant second thought is I'm glad the Angels are in their division and might have the most screwed up front office in MLB.
