Yeah it's not only Lossnagle. We need to keep a long memory for the assistants, they'll get theirs in time.

Wrong. If he doesn't join Schloss he's out of a job. He almost has to take the Assistant job. He or Earely should be looked at if we can't get a top Head Coach. If you are an Assistant and you don't follow the HC to the next job - you have no job. Can't blame him for following Schloss. Or Michael Earley.

If you listened to Boomer yesterday it sounds like the assistants were left in the dark on it all too up until the last couple of days and pretty much had no choice but to follow. If they stayed they would risk being let go by the new coach and the horns apparently tripled their salaries

Some of you guys are being as petty as Schloss. You can't blame the Assistants.

To me it boils down to if the burner phone thing is really on dealing with getting NIL to bring over current and future A&M players. For some reason I feel like Schloss is the type of guy to have his assistants do the dirty work so he can keep his hands clean. But again, that is all dependent if the "screenshots" are real and get released.

If you like Cain so much, go buy yourself some Longhorn merch and support him. Because he won't be here.

Honestly, if we're down to Heefner and Skip Johnson, Cain and Elander should absolutely be in the discussion. There is risk with any hire and some of the names thrown out there have just as much risk. I think Cain and Elander have just as much risk and maybe more upside.

What a silly thing to say, following Schloss to Austin was the only guarantee he would have a job, of course he would take it. If he was truly out of the loop on the whole debacle I don't think this reflects poorly on Cain at all

You need to go listen to JB Moss's interview from this morning. He said our new coach needs to go get Early and we would keep most of our position players. And also that he's pretty sure Early was informed pretty late and not happy with the change.

A few of those guys looked very uncomfortable at the tu presser.

I know the full staff followed him, but I won't be surprised to see a few of them go elsewhere once the dust settles. Earley and Cain didn't look happy to be there. I know it's disputed as to when exactly he told the rest of the staff, but they were put in a situation where they basically had to accept it.

"Hey - I'm going to the be the coach in Austin. I've negotiated a raise for you and want you to accept today. If you don't accept it, you can stick around and hope either the next coach retains you or get another job."

Josh Elander was named an assistant coach for the Volunteers in August of 2017 after spending one season as a volunteer assistant coach at Arkansas and was promoted to associate head coach after the conclusion of his fifth season on Rocky Top in 2022. During his six seasons on staff, the Volunteers have made two trips to the College World Series (2021 & 2023) and four NCAA Tournament appearances (2019, 2021, 2022, 2023).

Elander works primarily with the team's hitters and catchers while also serving as Tennessee's recruiting coordinator.

He's worth a phone call and discussion. If he's recruiting coordinator at Tennessee he's got to be one of the best in the business. Tennessee's roster this year was damn good.

He would like to remain at A&M is the word. Whomever is hired as HC should call him first!

Then why do the remaining players want Earley as HC?

Seems like they ought to know way more than posters on this board what went on in the program during the last month.

And I don't know if Earley is ready to be a HC but at this point it might be worth a discussion.
