Oregon State's experienced a rough year.

Your conference leaves you, your alumni football coach leaves you, and your future is entirely unknown.

Schloss is a dirtbag but he can be replaced. Nothing has changed as far as what makes A&M great.

Well, we already know the NCAA is worthless, so no matter the level of tampering or treachery, I expect nothing will come of this.

Nope. This was personal and intentional; and, planned by CDC and Scloss for maximum damage. They have succeeded. Been on this planet awhile and first time seeing something like this played out in real life, not a movie.

Is Texas purposely assuming the villain role as it enters the SEC? I don't think this is going to work as planned.

I can't think of anything slimier Texas could have done to put all of its new conference mates on notice that it is a low character institution and should never be trusted.

Saban left LSU for Bama after winning a title at LSU. Ask an LSU fan how they felt about that, and to make matters worse Saban went on to win 6 more titles at Bama while beating some good LSU teams. Prepare yourself. This Schlong thing could get worse.
Saban left LSU to coach in the NFL for the Miami Dolphins. Then he went to Bama.

Hunter G's post in the thread at the top of the page is telling.

I wonder what on earth caused this to happen? I don't think the answer is simple. I can't wait to find out.

He wanted to be the big man here. Bjork was willing to give him whatever he wanted but when he got canned, things got shaky.

Alberts is not the AD that he wanted. He didn't get his way and started pouting and looking around.

Alberts got here and realized what a financial **** show stuff was. POS didn't want his people touched at all. That ain't how it works. When he realized he couldn't just get his way, he started talking to CDC.

I don't want a coach that is going to try to hold a whole department hostage every year. Let him go find out that isn't gonna play for long on the 40 acres either.

When the dust settles on this, there will be plenty of coaches and players that realize that this was a betrayal of the highest order. I would expect to see some new found desire to beat the ever living hell out of sip.

This will hurt for a long time, but we will get under his skin.

I'm gonna make it a mission to go to every tuESDAY game that I can next year at dish faux and let him, and everyone else who was in on this know about it.

It's not just Horn hatred. This is a bright hot spotlight on the fact that we will NEVER be a real player in athletics. Second tier at best.

This poose mentality needs to die.
There were a helluva lot of better programs than Tennessee in baseball, both in funding and facilities, scattered all across the country.

Vitello didn't give a damn, and built a juggernaut right there.
Don't pull this woe is me crybaby bull*****

You serious, Clark?
Nah they're right. Him leaving sucks and hurts, but it massively magnified by the fact that its leaving to go to those *****es in Austin

Agree, that was the point of my comment

I'm ok with coaches moving and or getting poached because that's how it's done and this is biz.

Just keep you pig mouth shut during a press conference. Or better yet, just play coy but don't say stuff like "I'm never leaving and I love the 12th man"

This is what infuriates me more than getting outplayed by tu
I feel you man, but... why you gotta keep disrespecting pigs like that?

Washington played for all of the marbles in football just a few months back, and then their coach left for a top program -Alabama. Everyone here just shrugged.

Everyone and their mother knew DeBoer was leaving Washington after the season, especially with the PAC-12 falling apart. DeBoer was adamant in interviews that he wasn't entertaining offers until the season was over, he didn't sign up for the job before the PAC-12 championship game, and he didn't leave less than 24 hours after he lost.

Not comparable at all.

And to think that Schloss and his staff are in Austin breakdown down which Aggie players and recruits they are going to flip this week just makes me sick.

I hope some of our players and recruits tells him to pound sand for this chicken-**** move.

And that's fine. Just leave if you're unhappy.

But the way he did it and texas' contributions to the same act was a big FU to the university. Devastating even.

Strike 1 was berating Zane for daring to ask about his intentions and lieing his ass off about his loyalty. Strike 2 was not being man enough to even tell the team to their face. Strike 3 was leaving less than 24 hours after he lied and making the entire news cycle about himself even though he rode on the backs of the team that literally bled, sweat, and cried to make it where they did. The fact that it's with the sips is just a turd in the punch bowl.

where Schloss hurt A&M by going to t.u....

he went somewhere -- where the "switching costs" (i.e. transfer costs) are low for the players

a player going from College Station to Austin still gets to play in the SEC

and if they are from the state of Texas -- the travel for your parents or girlfriend to attend your games remains about the same

He can go where he wants. The unforgivable thing to me is that there is simply no way the team didn't pick up on this during the CWS.

Exactly !!! It's humanly impossible with the conflict of interests to do your job 100 percent as well as you had, had you not been in cahoots with the other team.
Corner Post

The conflicts of interest are compltely obvious: in my mind, the most eggregious conflict is doing your best to win a national title for a school that will be direct competition to your new employer.

The whole thing wreaks.

Sadly they won't, it's all about money, that's all it's ever about now. Our world is disgustingly greedy to the point of a devils playground.
