You guys spouting these conspiracy theories crack me up. Take a breath and come back to reality.

Schloss doesn't care about Texas A&M (and never did)
Schloss doesn't care about the UT-TAMU rivalry
Schloss doesn't even care about UT

He, like anyone else who is able to rise to his level of success, cares about himself, money, winning, and his on-paper legacy. That's it. In that order.

The level of competitiveness necessary to get to the position he's in is beyond what most of us on this board can comprehend. He's not throwing a game to stick it to A&M before he leaves. Why? Because he doesn't care that much about it.

He's not going to give up what could be his one shot to add "national champion" to his legacy (not to mention the bonus money that likely came with winning it). He's not going to give up that ego boost.

He doesn't care what jersey he's wearing - all he's thinking is "how do I add to my legacy, how do I make more money, how do I get more wins" - losing that game didn't check a single one of those boxes.

He's a slime ball for the way he went about this, but to think he intentionally lost the national championship to give a school he doesn't care about a moral one-up over another school he doesn't care about is ridiculous.
He's beholden to one man. cdc. (Ironic initials). If cdc says whatever you do, don't win the natty for the ags, that's what he'll do. Heck cdc absolutely has to have embarrassing info/photos on him. With their history its not that far fetched.

cdc: Hey man, im bolting for tu, give me some time and ill bring you over.

schloss: ok, but i hate it here, please hurry.

cdc: go make a payday at aTm, bide your time, i got you.

meanwhile cdc chokes out pierce and when the time is right (now) bam.

And you know this how?

He may have been distracted but why would have thrown away the biggest game of his professional career? The chance to have a natty on his resume? He knows as much as anyone how hard it is to win one and how chances do not come often.

It isn't like tu was saying 'lose the natty or we revoke the offer'. He had the tu offer in hand either way.

To think he deliberately sabotaged his own chance to reach the top of the mountain makes no sense.

"Hey Schlong, there an additional $500k signing bonus if the Ags lose the CWS, an additional 200k for each player you bring."

What's so hard to believe that something like that didn't occur? These aren't honorable men.

So now you've added "cdc is blackmailing Schloss with incriminating pictures" to your conspiracy? Man, I asked you guys to come back to reality and you're moving further away.

Schloss is beholden only to himself. Get real, man.

Lol- you don't actually think that Schloss sat around for 7.5 years waiting on CDC, right?

Dude couldn't even wait 3 years for an entire palace to be built.

Bc Schloss has plenty of money, and plenty of opportunity to make more - he may only have one chance to win the NC - legacy and ego mean too much to guys like that. He's not giving that up for a couple hundred grand

Given his lack of character, it is not that far fetched to believe that he accepted money from a tu booster to make sure we didn't win a national championship (or at least make it less likely.) The pitching decisions were highly suspect at besteven to the typical fan.

But in his mind he's not taking a NC from A&M, he didn't care about A&M and wasn't trying to win it for A&M. He would be taking an NC from himself - he was trying to win it for himself.

You guys are letting your love for A&M and your hate for UT cloud your thinking.

I understand what you are saying but his coaching decisions in those last two games do not line up with the thought that he was giving it his all to scrape out one more win for the championship. We may never know, but to act like it is not a possibility seems naive.

I'm glad you're so absolutely sure about all of this. I don't live in an absolute world. I live in a world where sleazy men do disgusting things for reasons I can't understand. The possibility of bad people perpetuating underhanded activity is real.

I don't think he threw the game but I'm sure there were distractions and definitely some questionable decisions on his part.

If he was throwing games, why not throw the tu game so he can get a 2 wk head start on recruiting?

You guys are sad.
Did you even watch the game? Schloss did try to throw it. But tu still couldn't win. Their blunders led to an Ag win.

Why would tu (cdc) want tu to win? Harder to fire pierce if he beats the Ags and moves on.
I was actually just kidding. In all seriousness, I don't think he threw any games.

However, he could have told tu to announce the firing AFTER the championship game. And I do think him negotiating and going to tu was a distraction for the coaching staff.

The distraction might have cost us a natty since we were so close.

Maybe not out-right, but do you honestly believe his head was 100% in these games since both his feet were clearly heading to Austin before the series even began?

Vitello was accused of acting like an ass toward the home plate umpire in Game 2, and then in Game 3, look at the calls the Vols got. Why the hell was Coach Sip **** yucking it up in the dugout while the Vols pitchers were awarded strikes on pitches well out of any known strike zone? Having played baseball (Year and years ago) and watched a bunch of games over my lifetime, I know the strike zone will vary from umpire to umpire, but no world exists where a pitch at the top of a batter's foot is a called strike 3. Coach Sip **** may not have literally thrown the series, but he damn sure did nothing when it was clear the umpires were bending the Ags over and going in dry.

I live in a world where if you hear hoofbeats, you think horses not zebras

Either A&M and a distracted coaching staff lost a hard fought series against one of the best teams in College baseball (who were ranked #1 overall) by the slimmest of margins due to our bats going absolutely cold

Or a high-level, millionaire head coach threw away the chance at achieving his life-long dream of winning a national title and cementing his legacy for a few hundred grand as part of a secret conspiracy

I'll let you decide which is the horse and which is the zebra

Distracted. It's so hard to win CWS but the rat coach in all his greed forgot that it takes EVERYTHING to win with no distractions. He wanted both but only got one.

I'm glad he lost
I'm not glad the players lost. They are the real heros who almost won it despite their distracted coach and staff. Those guys are amazing.
