Schloss ain't leaving. If this was the Texas job of pre-2019 when NIL wasn't a thing then maybe yeah. But we are getting an insane stadium renovation, have a lot of NIL (have been owning Texas on the field and in recruiting)…. he's not leaving

Timing is everything. If their opening had preceded ours, my guess is Schloss may have been there. But no reason to leave now. He has a top job in the country already.

Unless the river shifted course, neither of those are on Town Lake.

Their best bet is Waz or Chatham. Period. Perhaps Limonis. Perhaps Bianco. I don't see any of the current coaches in the CWS making a move. If that were true, my money is on Elliot Avent of NC State.

LSU folks are quirky. I know some big donors at LSU that would love to jettison Johnson. Crazy. I know.

Someone posted above tu is going to buy some property along Town Lake and build a stadium overlooking it. Maybe they can share that new stadium with the MLB team they're getting.

I'm trying to figure out what space over there is available

Muni golf course... c'mon. Or where the drum got demolished.

The drum was not on Town lake. It mostly had a view of my old workplace

The (Drum) Erwin Center will be replaced by two medical towers, one will be MD Anderson and the other is a UT Austin specialty hospital. Construction is under way at an estimated cost of $2.5 billion. Town lake is a new student apartment opening in the Fall of 2024. If you watched the ATM UT softball series, the Town Lake student apartments border the softball outfield wall. If you go yard and break a window on the UT softball field, that window is in the Town Lake student apartments. It's very close to their current baseball field. Schlossnagle is a rock star, get used to it.

Drum got demolished for a med school expansion. In fact, Med School has been putting the squeeze on athletics facilities from the beginning, first by taking their tennis facilities. That was fun watching them fail to raise funds to build a replacement.

Speaking of funding, they had to sell their future facilities revenue from their arena to get the money to build it. Not sure the baseball diamond has a similar multiuse ROU, so getting an investment group to foot the bill might be a bit harder.

I knew the Erwin Center was reporused. Guess I didn't know with what. I guess I don't really care what they do. Liike I said.... dry sense of humor. I knew neither site was on Town...err Lady Bird lake. And they can't build a new site on the lake if they wanted to. The buried beetle folks would sue them before it started.

Which is nowhere near the lake formerly known as "Town Lake" (Ladybird Lake).

The ragged-out married/international student housing is, in fact, on Ladybird Lake, across the road from Muni. They could possibly squeeze a stadium between the lake and Lake Austin Blvd.

In addition to already having all advantages over tu currently, if Schloss wins a natty or two he'll have a statue and somehow his name would be part of the stadium.

They have been talking about tearing down some academic building next to DKR and building some practice fields that don't require a bus ride. Problem is it is a historic building and someone is fighting them on tearing it down.

Ladybird didn't want a lake named after her. She blocked them her entire life, but as soon as she died and could no longer stop them, they renamed the lake. So disrespectful.

you don't need a nice stadium to get good players. Wake forest is proof of that.

The student housing land you are referring to is owned by the state of Texas as is the Lions Municipal golf course. UT owns about 30 acres near Exposition and Lake Austin Blvd fronting Ladybird Lake.

The price would be insane, but you could buy the old Austin-American Statesman property right along Town Lake. Knock it down and put a stadium there. Won't happen, it'll either be another office building or high rise condo's at some point.
